About this property
Escape to Storm Mountain - 31 day minimum stay
Monthly (31 day minimum stay). Spectacular Rocky Mountain retreat on 7+ secluded acres! Panoramic mountain views high above Big Thompson Canyon. The home borders the national forest and is near Estes Park and the RMNP. It is the perfect home for family gatherings, couples or small groups wanting to get away from it all. Relax on the deck, play in the entertainment room or enjoy the multiple hiking trails with walking distance of the home. Sustainability focused with power produced on-site.
Our home is perched on a ridge leading up to the top of Storm Mountain offering incredible views and privacy (no other neighbor in site). The home has three levels (upstairs, main level and a walkout basement). The main level has one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining and living area as well as access to the wrap around porch (porch wraps around three sides of the home). The upstairs is the primary bedroom that includes a beautiful sitting area with views and a private bathroom and laundry. The walkout basement has the entertainment center (TV), dart board, foosball table, a shared bathroom and two bedrooms. The porch off the main level has plenty of seating either around the firepit (propane) or multiple dining or sitting areas....our favorite place to sit in the evenings and share stories.
Guest escaping to Storm Mountain will have access to the entire home and property (additional sitting areas, benches, picnic tables among the trees on the property. Traveling to our home is all part of the adventure. The drive is approximately 5.25 miles up Storm Mountain road. It's slow but exciting....each turn with a new view.
We are "off the grid"....at least power wise (Yes, we have highspeed internet). The home operates completely on solar panels with a propane powered generator as backup (the propane generator operates automatically as needed....nothing for you to worry about). Because we operate on solar there are a few recommendations we'd like for you to consider. Be mindful of the number of electrical appliances operating at the same time (hair dryers, etc).
