No kidding, the view is spectacular with Mount Riante in the distance. We are on the main channel facing due South which is important because it means NO MOSQUITOES and there is always a nice breeze.
We are just outside the city limits of Hot Springs which means we are minutes away from everything, 5 minutes from Oaklawn Park, yet located on a private, quiet peninsula.
We have a boat dock available with a marina a few hundred yards away to gas up the boat. You will put your boat in at Hill Wheatley park and hop across the main channel to our boat dock.
We have covered parking for your vehicle or your boat trailer. You will want to put your boat in prior to coming to cottage as we have a steep driveway.

I recommend getting there during the daylight to ensure you find the property easily. If you consider where you are at and who’s around you, this is absolutely a Total win. The views were spectacular. I loved having a place for my car and bikes. I found the easy way to get back-and-forth that wasn’t too dusty. And there are ways to get to downtown Hot Springs from here. We will be back
Happy with our choice, what we were looking for - but definitely rustic - older cabin, wear and tear. The beds were comfortable. And the view and access to water were excellent. Area for dog relief was rough and not convenient - wish they had an easy to access grassy area available.
This place has an amazing back porch/deck that looks straight out on the lake Hamilton. You wake up in the morning and the first thing you see is the water and people driving by on their boat having fun. Only about 10 to 15 minutes from town. And only about 15-20 minutes from Ouachita lake. I was kind of bummed that the Jets and the Jacuzzi didn’t work and kind of bummed that the icemaker didn’t work. Walmart was just down the street so it wasn’t a big deal for ice. Bring extra toilet paper and I am coming here. There was a very limited supply toilet paper.. Overall, an amazing spot. We would definitely come back to this spot again!
Our cabin was more than comfortable. It had the most amazing view of the lake but most importantly a most perfect view of the total eclipse. A perfect place for a perfect day. Close to everything and host was easy to communicate with. This place will forever be part of a memory of a lifetime, thank you! We recommend it highly.
We needed to run away for our 30th anniversary from St. Louis. It was beyond perfect! The place was so qaint and welcoming. I loved that we could bring our dog. We spent every minute on the dock, or the deck. Probably the only time that I have been in a lake in October, around here. Totally PERFECT!
We enjoyed our stay and definitely will return, everything was as expected, property was very clean, fully stocked with all the things one need all we had to do was bring our food and snacks, everything was functioning, the views were amazing!, the owners very fast to respond to our messages, our two teens totally approved this getaway and we all are looking forward to the next opportunity to visit again.
The owner was very responsive. The place was clean, but not deep clean. It definitely shows it’s age. For the price and our length of stay it was fine. The dock and porch were nice. We had good weather and spent our time outside. Not a ton of space to run around for our 8 & 9 year old boys, but they made the best of it, climbing around the back yard and using their imaginations. If deep clean is your thing, find someplace else. If you don’t mind a little dust/dirt in the corners, windows, and window sills, you’ll be fine here.
We enjoyed staying here and felt like the price was right for the property. Good location (short drive to any major attraction in Hot Springs) and was exactly what we were looking for. Pros: Easy check-in/ check-out, clean, pet-friendly, stocked with all toiletries and enough kitchen utensils. Cons: it is a dated property and furnishings are pretty basic (which is fine if you're just looking for a base to operate a vacation our of), the bed with the blue blanket sags a but in the middle (we put a kid on it and switched to the pink bed), beds in general are not the most comfortable but will get you by, hot water does not last long so we had to shower in shifts, driveway is very steep and can be a little intimidating but once you've done it a couple of times it's fine.
Overall, the location on the lake was great and there are grocery stores and restraunts very nearby. We were there during a bit of a cold snap and the heating was perfect. There's a TV with Roku which allowed us to access Netflix, etc.
For the price point this property gets 5 stars.
The view is lovely. The house was clean. There are soft spots in the floor. No outlets worked in the bathroom. Very few outlets in the house at all. The hot water in the shower lasted only about 7 minutes. I wasn’t expecting the Ritz and this is not it, but overall I enjoyed my stay. The hills and steep slopes of hot springs are not for the faint of heart. The driveway does get easier to handle as time passes. Having a washer and dryer was great. Also the little coffee station is a nice touch.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Not pleased with stay
Pro: wifi and heat worked, great view
Con: rustic yes, didn't expect 5 star accommodations but floors were filthy (owner did send cleaning lady who swept & mop but didn't do bathroom floors), windows filthy, couldn't get TV to work since we needed a streaming service, bathtub was nasty, floors had weak/soft spots throughout, door was damaged at bottom, electrical covers were damaged and worst of all bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep. Had a 3 night stay but left after one night (was only there 15 hrs). Place needs a lot of TLC. For the nightly rate it was very disappointing.
The beds were uncomfortable and coverings were minimal. The cushions for the lake furniture were filthy and covered with dog hair. The water in the shower was just hot enough to shower without cold water being in. The clothes I hung in the closet stunk from just being hanged up in there. Location was great though.
In general, we loved this location and the views!!It’s very close to all the downtown sites and all the restaurants on Lake Hamilton.
Upon check-in I was not pleased with the cleaning and the amount of supplies. That has since been taken care of.
Overall a great place great location beds are hard and very uncomfortable.
We would come back and stay if the supply issue and other requests got completed.

Myself, my wife and our two girls live in Dallas, Texas. My wife is originally from Hot Springs and we travel here as much as time will allow.
We love the Hot Springs area, and wanted someplace on the lake where we could get away.
Why they chose this property
We love this property because of the spectacular views and southerly breeze. We had a place in a cove at one time, and the mosquitos were unbearable.
Our home is a rustic 50+ year old cottage built right on the lake. Multiple decks to lounge on, a boat dock and steps right down into the water.
Check the photos and reviews to learn more about our vacation home. If you are expecting the Ritz Carlton, this is not your place. This is a fantastic rustic cottage where you can hang out at night and spend your days in the water. It is private and quiet with the rumble of boat engines and waves to put you to sleep on the deck.
What makes this property unique
There are multiple decks to lounge on and great swimming. We are minutes from everything by both boat and car. It is a perfect location.
