About this property

This spacious, sparkling clean house on Lake Lanier, which we call Happy Ours, is the perfect lake getaway. Whether you’re celebrating an occassion or just want to spend time with friends or family, there’s room to be comfortable here. Situated on an open cove but not on rough "big water", you will be thrilled you found Happy Ours.

This beautiful home has bedrooms and bathrooms on three different levels, which offers privacy to your group. The main living area has a vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, and lots of natural light from the wall of windows that overlook the trees and the lake. There are also three separate decks, two of which are covered, and one has an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit.

Down at the lake you have full access to the large private dock with an upper sun deck and plenty of room for swimming, fishing, and just hanging out on the water. You are welcome to bring your own boat and leave it in one of the two slips.

The house is in a great location, just a short drive to downtown Gainesville and Lake Lanier Islands. If you’re in the mood to shop, you can visit the North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville. And there are lots of great restaurants in the area.

DON'T PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY.

Not only is this home outstanding with beautiful morning scenery, the home owner Joni is as well. She kept perfect communication, even answered the phone at 11pm to accommodate me extending our stay. I travel for a living and have been to countless rentals, this here has been by far the best. If your looking for a good private spot on the lake, stop looking and hit book now. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a getaway. It is perfect for a large family and a great location close to shopping restaurants and hiking. Property was fine, Joni came over and fixed the TV problem quickly. Kitchen was stocked but low inventory of paper towels, trash bags, no bar soap at all and Blankets. We went to store and bought things we needed. But be aware to take all these things. Grill needed some attention for sure.

Perfect house for a girl's weekend getaway

This was a great location for our girl's weekend getaway to celebrate a friend. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate 10 ladies comfortably. Great location and very clean

This is a great location on the lake because it's not on the main thoroughfare. Businesses and restaurants are not far away. The house is very clean and has the kitchen dishes and cookware you would need. Part of the walk to the lake is quite steep, but it is well maintained. Just be aware. The houses nearby were quiet making it a peaceful getaway. We had a great visit!

Amazing location

We stayed with our family of 12 and the property was absolutely perfect. The bedroom layout works perfect for multiple adult couples, or for parents with older children. The basement is super cozy and comfortable and allows plenty of room for playing games or watching a movie together. The dock at the lake was perfect and in a perfect location on the lake!

Beautiful Property

This property was perfect for our group of 8 adults to enjoy our annual golf getaway. There was plenty of room for all to sleep and the basement area provided plenty of entertainment for our group to enjoy during the evenings. The shuffleboard amenity gave us a two night event of a friendly tournament. Additionally, the downstairs table along with additional fridge & sink/bar area was perfect for our poker night and allowed some of us older folk to save the wear on our knees from having to travel upstairs for food or drinks while enjoying the entertainment area. The dock area was beautiful & one of our members in the group caught a decent sized Bass fairly quickly. Plenty of fish seen around the area to further enjoy if interested. The outside firepit & grill area was awesome and was used on our first night by the group. The grill was easy to use and large enough that we were able to cook 24 burgers on one cook. The owners were excellent to work with and even accomadated to some of our group that happened to be in the area as early arrivals. They checked on us the day of arrival to ensure we all arrived safely and checked to make sure we didn't have any further questions or needed anything. We absolutely loved this property and will definitely keep it top on our list for any future trips. This is definitely a property that is well worth the money for what you receive in return!!!

The Perfect Retreat

This rental was well appointed, super clean, and accommodated 3 adult couples and a single amazingly! It is rare that you find a rental with 3 king sized bedrooms all ensuite. Not only that, if we had the kids with us, this house could have accommodated 5 of them. Wow! The three levels of this house allowed each member of our group to have their own space to retreat to, and then the living room and porch was expansive enough to allow all of us to congregate together. The driveway also easily fit 3 cars and could fit many more if necessary. Loved the peaceful dock and the alcove where the house is situated. I can't say enough about this rental, it really was perfect!

Family Thanksgiving on the lake

Girl’s Weekend

We selected this property for our annual girl’s weekend as it is close to a nearby spa and winery. The home is beautiful, secluded, and well appointed with everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The owner lives close by and reached out multiple times prior to our arrival and after we got there to make sure everything met our expectations. Check in was super easy! The layout of the house is perfect and certainly allows plenty of room to relax and have privacy if you need for different age groups. Our group consisted of Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, and Cousins coming from 5 different locations so we enjoyed the space to be together, cook, and enjoy each other’s company. The main living space was plenty large enough for us to do this without feeling cramped. We are a family of great cooks! It’s always important to us for the kitchen to be well stocked with most everything we need to cook up a wonderful meal. This property did not disappoint! The outdoor kitchen space and adjoining patio area were beautiful and allowed us to have views of the lake. We also loved the fire pit! The porches have plenty of furniture to sit and enjoy the views and peaceful privacy. Our party of 6 really had a wonderful time at this lakeside property and would definitely recommend to others.

About the host

Hosted by Joni Tuttle - Owner/Broker of Parkside Realty, Inc.

We built this house as a second home while our kids were still in school. After downsizing from our home in Gwinnett county, we bought a smaller home around the bend and essentially get to enjoy the same great cove as our vacation rental. Living close by allows us to be extremely responsive to our rental guests and also enjoy one of the most central locations on Lake Lanier.

Why they chose this property

This is the second home we owned on Lake Lanier. The first one we built was further and the lot was quite steep. We desired a lot that was more gentle down to the lake, and this one fit the bill. No matter what the water levels are on the lake, we are able to move the dock so that we always have water and can get our boats in and out.

The house itself is great for couples as well as families since four of the five bedrooms have their own bathroom. It has been a wonderful house for family vacations.

What makes this property unique

There are many things we love about the house. The outdoor kitchen with the fire ring is one of our favorites. No matter what time of year, we use the outdoor grill and fire ring as a place to gather. The covered decks off the back of the house are good for meals and to sit and relax with a cup of coffee. The ceiling fans keep it a comfortable temperature in the warm months.

The cove where our dock is located makes a great spot to sit and watch people fish, tube or ski. It is a protected spot, yet very open without being in an area where the dock/boat gets knocked around. The location on the lake is convenient; we love to take the boat over to Pelican Pete's to eat and listen to music. There is always something to do and Gainesville is 10 minutes away if we want to go shopping or go to dinner.
