A beautiful log cabin perfect for two. Our host was wonderful; he guided us up the mountain to the cabin which is carved into the rock. He provided extra firewood and charcoal for us!! The sunrise and sunset vistas are superb.

This is a wonderful cabin—close to many outdoor adventures. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable cabin in June Lake with great access to the Sierras. Ian was fantastic host and provided helpful insights on nearby hikes and restaurants.
We really enjoyed staying at Ian’s cabin. It was so much nicer than the photos. It is open and airy, very comfortable bed and great pillows. The cabin has such unique features, including a free standing tub w shower! Absolutely adorable. Appliances are retro which have a nice feel. The kitchen is thoroughly stocked with most everything you could want.
There are stairs to the front door. The stairs are wide and easy to climb. Stairs inside too which are not steep and have sturdy handrails on both sides. We are in our late 60’s and had no problem at all.
The living room and kitchen are on the first floor with the bedroom above the living area. Beautiful deck with amazing views.
Double Eagle Resort less than a mile away and they had fantastic food and a fish pond you can use. Short drive to Silver Lake which is beautiful and they serve a great breakfast. Overall, we loved this place and Ian was such a kind and helpful person.
I loved staying here for the weekend prior to heading over to Yosemite. The views of the mountains from the windows were breathtaking and my stay was peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. Communication with the host, Ian, was easy and he showed me the way to the cabin since the roads are tricky, and gave me recommendations that were spot on for hiking and dining. I would definitely stay here again and can’t wait to plan a return trip! Thank you so much Ian!!
Pictures don't justify how beautiful the property is inside and out. The host maintained the house well and made sure guests had everything they needed to feel like their little getaway home. The aesthetics of the cabin had many vintage-like attention to details. Location is very close to the surrounding lakes and easily a 5 minute drive to town.
Ian gave us many recommendations on places to eat and things to see! We ate at the double eagles restaurant and went on a beautiful hike to parker lake per his recommendation and had a amazing time. Will be coming back for future visits!
I had a wonderful stay. So sad it was so short. Ian helped me even when it was super late at night to make sure i got to the house ok since the gps doesnt direct you all the way to the house. Everything was clean and the home was beautiful. I would happily stay here again! :)
We enjoyed our stay immensely at Ian's log cabin. This is not your rustic log cabin; instead, it is an exquisite and beautiful structure with all the comforts of home. It also happens to have an impressive view of Carson Peak and Horsetail Falls from the balcony and windows. Although it's on a street with other homes, there is a peaceful feel and there are pines, junipers, and plenty of birds on the hillside property. You can hear the waterfall / creek from the valley below.
I enjoyed unwinding from our day's outings with a relaxing bath in the clawfoot tub, and my husband took pleasure in sitting in a comfy chair sketching the mountain scene outside the window.
While in the June Lake area, we hiked along the Gull Lake Loop Trail and swam at June Lake Beach. We would love to come back and get away at Ian's cabin again.
The cabin is beautiful, clean with everything needed. Loved the vintage stove, refrigerator and claw foot tub. Views of the mountains and Horse Tail Falls was incredible. Ian (host) was great and very helpful with local recommendations. We will stay here again!
This rustic little cabin was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. It had an incredible view of snow filled peaks and a water fall. Ian was very kind and full of great tips for around town. You could tell he put alot of time into building the cabin. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing trip in the sierras. 10/10
Our stay at Ian’s cabin was delightful. The cabin is clean and modern and in a great location, and Ian (the host) was incredibly kind and helpful. He gave us many tips that ended up being some of the best parts of our trip. We would love to stay here again.
The cabin is a perfect get away. The location is great for the many nearby activities. Ian had great suggestions on trails.
The bed is comfortable and the bathtub is wonderful after a day hiking. Make sure to utilize the BBQ on the deck. Having laundry on site is a nice bonus. The peace and quiet are exactly what we were looking for.

About the host

I'm a Brit who moved to the US in 1979 and fell in love with the Eastern Sierra and particularly June Lake. My wife and I built the fully-detached Guest House, completing it in 2005. We then started work on the main house, which sits higher up the hill, and that is now home.
Why they chose this property
When we first bought the lot, we did so because of the view and location. The view from this property is spectacular by any definition. A fabulous panaramic mountain view, complete with waterfalls, puts you right in the heart of the High Sierra's.
What makes this property unique
The Guest House nestles right into the granite mountainside, surrounded by Juniper and Jeffrey Pines. It's very cosy, with a log stove, deck with barbeque, fantastic views and beautiful logwork, produced by one of the top custom log builders. At night, all you'll hear is the creek below - or the thunder of Horsetail Falls in the Spring.
