About the host

Host profile image
I am an Alaskan at heart, living here for over 25 years now. I raised my five children in Alaska, the last few years as a widow. God brought me another amazing husband in 2023. Hosting the Lakehouse is a delight for us.
My goal as a host is to make you feel right at home. The house is cozy and has all the things you might need during your stay--from pancake mix to cotton balls, binoculars, and extra blankets.
It is truly my pleasure to open up my home to you. You, the traveler, are a great blessing to me. I am thankful for you!

Why they chose this property

The property was originally homesteaded by the Peck family, my first husband's family in the 1920's. The original homestead cabin and some of the outbuildings, including the outhouse, are still on the property.
Ernest and Velma Peck built the home to retire in. Unfortunately Ernest passed away before its completion. Velma lived in the house for about 20 years, enjoying the view, the birds, and the peace of the property. She passed the property on to me and my kids, as my husband had passed a few years earlier.
The neighborhood has developed more in the recent years, but the property still feels secluded and peaceful at the end of the driveway.

What makes this property unique

You will feel like you are in your own little world on the lakefront, with majestic views of the lake and mountains, yet you are walking distance to the library, grocery stores, parks, and restaurants.
