About this property
Waupoos Beach Commons: Sleep 16+Kayaks, Bikes+more
Need a break from the city? Come relax at our peaceful beach bay with a modern house and chalet and savour the county’s most delectable treats at your doorstep. We welcome you to enquire about rates for your long-term stays and for events.
Perfect for a vacation, a family cottage excursion or a workation. The house can sleep up to 10 people and the chalet 6 more and parking is available for up to 7 cars. Great for families with humans of all ages most welcome!
This beautiful beach house and chalet will help you relax from the moment you enter the grounds. There's plenty of parking and a large lawn for playtime. The house windows reflect the blue waters lapping at your beach just steps from the door. All you have to do is get here; we’ve taken care of everything else.
The house includes two full bathrooms and four bedrooms on two floors to comfortably sleep 6 adults and 4 kids (or some such combo). The chalet has two additional bedrooms (with a bathroom) and a pull-out couch. Washer and dryer are on site and we supply lovely linens and towels. We’ve also got you covered with all the small appliances from coffee maker to hair dryers to make you feel right at home.
Ready to play? Wade into the water to cool off or paddle out in the canoe or one of the kayaks (one single and one double). The water is shallow, so the kiddies can splash about and make wonderful sandcastles with the provided toys.
In the mood to relax? Grab a book from our tiny library and flop into the beach hammock or lay on the dock and just feel the stress melt away as you listen to the waves.
Rainy day? No problem! There are board games, puzzles, toys and crafts for indoor fun as well as a DVD player and loads of golden oldy DVDs to revisit or share with your kids. The spacious house has room for everyone to enjoy their stay, with a chef’s kitchen to cook up those local gourmet treats and plenty of sitting areas to lounge and gab, all framed by stunning views of the gorgeous bay.
Workation? No worries. There's a delightful workspace set up in a larger bedroom overlooking the beach, where you can watch the swans and rabbits while chatting with colleagues.
Calm waters by a beach with charms
Local wine tours, cheese tours, art and farms
Farm stands selling fresh local grub
Waupoos Estates Winery, County Cidery, Waupoos pub
With kayaks and bikes to locomote
Away from the crowds, it’s somewhat remote
Just a 30 minute drive from the famed Sandbanks
And for our private beach we give thanks.
Picton nearby is a lovely town.
With tons of nice shops all around!
Our rhymes may be full of cheese
But if you come, we’ll be sure to please.
This lovely House has easy access off the local road with space for 7 cars to park.
Car: Drive to Picton for groceries, LCBO alcohol and nice little local shops or to the famed Sandbanks.
Walk to some of the local gems like the Waupoos Pub, Del Gatto Estates Winery, Fifth Town Cheese Shop and more.
Taxis: Try Terry’s tax or The Taxi Guy
Bicycle: Bring your own or use the four bikes we store in the shed for your enjoyment.
Some shared space - Waupoos Beach Commons has 4 dwellings on site. You will have access to the beautiful large house, it's lawn furnishings, fire pit on the beach and as well as all the outdoor equipment. You are invited to explore the entire outdoor property, including all the lawns and the beach.
Check-in/out - We request that bookings are Monday to Monday as much as possible. It helps a lot with our logistics, of ensuring we can have the place cleaned and ready.
Have a question about the house or community? If people are in the adjacent two cabins, they will be happy to pass on their knowledge or help with household issues! When on site, they generally stick to themselves and will certainly respect your privacy, but are always happy to say hello on the beach and they’re available to answer questions about the property or community.
Quiet hours: outdoor quiet after 11pm, no loud music after 10pm
Please stay within boundaries of the property (made clear in manual on site), as we are trying to be good neighbours
No shoes inside the house.
Enquire if interested in hosting an event.
