We loved it! Lulled to sleep by the sounds of the sea below and around us! Henry and Isis and Daniel were sooo attentive to our every need and whim! The food was great at Chat n Chill, so we didn’t go anywhere else while there except to venture north to swim and beachcomb. Lovely stay!
We had a great time! We enjoyed hanging out with the property family and they helped us at every turn. Daniel and Henry were great! The food was amazing! The weather was unfortunate, but it didn't spoil our time at all!!

Enjoyed staying over the water. Clean, hospitality, accommodating, fun things to do. Great food.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute in our little piece of heaven. The waves lulled us to sleep every night and the sea breeze was perfection. We will be back.
This place was amazing! The grounds are kept very clean and you feel very safe there. A long bumpy drive on a golf cart but well worth it. Daniel and Henry were super helpful and friendly. Henry can help arrange tours for you and they pick you up at your dock.
If you want a different experience book this cabin over the water. We kept the windows open to have a cool breeze through but there are no screens. Henry would spray under the cabana at night which kept the mosquitos away.
The internet is very weak there and they should look at getting a booster for it but that is the only complaint we had.
This place is exactly what is described! We were looking for a place a bit more secluded and it didn’t disappoint! Bring some groceries or if not you only have a few options to go! Either way it was a great stay!! Loved the rustic feel and relaxing vibe! Pretty awesome sleeping over the ocean with all the windows open! What a experience! I gotta say Daniel was next level in helping and taking care of us the whole time! The man is on point! You feel like you are the only guest! I would definitely come back! Thanks again!,
The stay at Casa Del Mar came as promised. While the term Glamping was used in the description it was definitely more than that. The rooms and option were more than enough for the laid back lifestyle. Young Daniel was incredibly attentive to our needs and always nearby with his first rate music background. Food and drink were first rate, need to remember it’s cash only. While the road is a trial at time it really serves as a common bond between all guest and is sure to bring about a few laughs. Headed to both Tranquility and Secret Beach for excellent outings and swims along with some poolside beverages. The sound of the water and the coolness of the ocean breeze made it easy to sleep at night.

Beautiful but long dark drive
The large room over the sea on the pier is amazing. It is well equipped. The hot shower outside was amazing. The outdoor restrooms were not cleaned daily with trash cans full and needing to request toilet paper. No replenishing towels by 3rd day. We left on the 3rd day of our 6 day stay to a resort closer to town due to the dark scary drive at night. Pitch black by 6pm with no lights for a 40 minute drive in the golf cart on a bumpy road. The pink and green arrows mentioned in the listing are missing on the route. We ate at the Sapphire resort restaurant next door due to the chat and chill not really being a restaurant. No one was at the property to greet us despite our informing them of our arrival at 4pm. We shouted into the house as we could hear a woman inside. She came out at 4:30pm. We enjoyed our 3 days but had to move to a safer property closer to town with air conditioning as it was too hot for sleeping. Not really worth the price as our new resort was cheaper, full one bedroom apartment with a/c and kitchen and more amenities.
Beautiful, well-maintained, and wonderful hospitality
Positives: Casa Del Mar is a spectacular cabin. It was well-maintained and very clean (all of the facilities seemed this way). It was extremely relaxing being over the water. The bed was comfortable. Henry, Isis and their team are extremely hospitable and helped us in every single way they possibly could. We enjoyed being away from town. Just be prepared for a long, bumpy ride!
Negative: This listing looks as if it is the only rental out on the pier. It is not. There are 2. Casa Del Mar is the rental right by the boat. There is another rental at the end of the pier. We wish we would’ve known this. We rented this cabin because we wanted to sit out at night and fish under the lights. We were not allowed to do this because another couple rented the cabin at the end and did not want anyone fishing near their cabin. The majority of the lights and fish were at the end of the pier. And there were a LOT of fish out there. This was very disappointing to us. If we had known the setup of these 2 rentals, we would have rented the cabin at the end of the pier.
Overall, it’s a great property with wonderful hosts. We were just greatly disappointed that we weren’t able to fish as we had hoped.
Read the listing carefully because it is very clear and accurate. Also read the 72 reviews that are almost universally 5 stars. The home cooked meals at Chat and Chill are great and the small scale (3 cottages) of the property lends itself to unexpectedly forming some bonds with other guests.
Things to note: the pool is accessible for guests. There is a large fresh drinking water jug in every room so no need to buy water before you arrive. There are plenty of towels in each unit. The bed was comfortable. The restaurant is open every day. (One other review stated is was closed on weekends). Excursions will pick you up at the property if requested. There is great reef fishing and snorkel spots very nearby by boat.
After a successful day of reef fishing, Izzy and Henry at Chat and Chill agreed to cook up the bounty so we could have a community feast. Above an beyond is the best way to describe what they did for us and the other guests.
Read the description because it does a good job explained what not to expect. This is Glamping and it’s awesome. The road leading up to the property is very bumpy but completely manageable. There are plenty of adventures you can experience within a 30-40 minute golf cart ride after you‘ve enjoyed a few chill days onsite and taken a few excursions.
We spent two nights a luxury resort before arriving and loved both experiences for different reasons.
If you read the 72 glows reviews and find yourself thinking it sounds fun, just do it.

Peaceful Stay Over the Sea
After a 45 minute golf cart ride north, you will arrive at the beautiful property that is chat and chill. When we arrived, we were greeted by both Henry and Daniel who helped us with our luggage down the dock and gave us an overview of the house and property.
If you wish to, you can eat 3 meals a day here prepared by the lovely Isis. The restaurant is cash only. The only ATMs that we could find were in town. About 10-15 min drive south, there are 2 smaller convenience stores that we personally did not shop at but other guests mentioned grabbing snacks and drinks at. We did our grocery shopping in town at Super Buy.
We used White Sands Dive shop for diving/snorkeling excursions. They are about 20 minute golf cart drive south. However, they will also come pick you up
There are a few things that we wished were updated in the listing. The Wi-Fi password is not accurate and does not reach the little houses on the dock. To use you must be close to the main house and restaurant. A Wi-Fi booster would solve this.
Also, the underwater light for nighttime viewing of marine life is currently not working as of 2/18/2023. This is a bummer as it is advertised as being functional.
Another thing to note, the owner and person who is listing the property was not physically on site during our stay. We personally had no problems but if there was an issue it would be helpful to have the contact information in the listing of the people who are actually present on the property.

We loved the cabin on the water. It was why we booked the place and were very happy with the accommodations as well as the hosts. We loved the waves lapping the shore all night and the awesome sunrise. Great place if you want peace and quiet.
This is a great experience if you want privacy and an alternative to the big box resorts. It's a family owned property and hospitality with the staff is like having a personal concierge. It is one of the last true locations to stay at and the farthest North (as of Nov 2022). This ensures some privacy (excluding the occasional fishing boats) but also means a 30-45 minute cart ride from town. Since other attractions are 15-20 minutes away, this was still worth it and would gladly do again.
Two of us stayed in this spot right over the water. Waking up to the breeze and letting the sun in through lots of windows was my favorite. We arrived late and the staff still took care of us. Got us settled in, made us drinks and dinner. The flushing toilets are a bit of a walk but it never ended up being an issue for us. The space was cozy, private, and comfy. Bring your own water and snacks. We felt very welcomed.
This stay was magical and just what we needed. You go to sleep seeing the stars and wake up to the beautiful skies and swaying palm trees all with the ocean as the backdrop. The stay over the water is an adventure. We were there during the windy season and ended up using our shoe laces and other improvisations to try and tie the shutters down as there isn't a good system and they went crashing in the night with the gusty winds. Daniel was our caretaker when we were there and he was delightful. We were told we'd be met by Henry who we imagine is Daniel's dad and Isis who we never saw or met. We'd asked Daniel for tie downs and he offered us his own laces which we felt bad about (he is maybe 18 ish) so we used our own. The meals and drinks we had were fantastic. Make sure to eat breakfast one day while you're there. And, we loved being up north and getting to explore. We recommend taking your cart up to Tranquility Bay. And, Genie, Henry's friend was fantastic for trips out to Mexico Rocks and Hol Chan for snorkeling. The price is slightly more than getting on a commercial trip, and well worth the customized experience. Genie will pick you up at the dock, right out your front door.
We stayed in the bungalow above the water, absolutely AMAZING!!! Henry and Daniel were so nice and made themselves available any time! Everything was so clean and our view was beyond awesome!
I do wish there were water lights at the bungalow by the boat, but no one was staying in the last bungalow so we got to see tons of fish and sting rays every night!!
The ride out there in our golf cart was the funnest! We really enjoyed being out of the city, made for great adventures each day and even felt very safe driving out there in the dark!!
10/10, will definitely be back!!! 😃😃
The staff attended to our every need. If your looking for a low key vacation, this properties hits the mark. If you want more activity, it just a short golf cart ride away. We will be back soon. Thank you for a great stay
Casa Del Mar was the perfect spot to call home base fir our vacation. The golf cart tide had us in fits of laughter and the views from our bed were spectacular. Henry, Isis and Daniel made us feel welcome and provided us with the perfect amount of attention and privacy. I loved the simplicity of our quarters and would not have changed a thing.
We really loved this property and the surrounding area! Henry and his family took excellent care of us! I really cant say enough about Henry. He is a super person. They made our stay way better than expected...

We purchased nearly 500 feet of beachfront property in Belize and love the island and the people who live here. Property was originally Son & Sea Camp. A Christian Summer Camp for the Children of Belize. The property now consists of a Casita on the beach and a house on the dock as well as Chat~n~Chill restaurant featuring great food and drinks right on the beach of the Caribbean Sea
Why they chose this property
We love being away from the traffic and congestion of San Pedro. Ten miles north of town, easily accessible with rental golf cart or water taxi. Far enough away to have peace and quiet, but close enough to drive in to town for shopping or a meal
What makes this property unique
You are literally sleeping over the water. The house is constructed on the dock. The most amazing views in all of Belize. The peace and quiet of camping, with walls and a roof.
