We have stayed 5 different times in Sunset Captiva, in 4 different houses. The Sunset Captiva neighborhood is fabulous - we love the location, the amenities, the easy access to the Gulf Beach and Pine Island Sound, the pool and the meticulous maintenance of the grounds. This house, for us, is in a less desirable location within the community as it backs up to the main road and you can hear traffic noise even with the windows closed. On the plus side, you have very easy access to the road and to the shops and restaurants of Captiva - the downside is others use the same 'shortcut' to the road and so their is less privacy due to the foot traffic going by the porch. The biggest downside is that the porch is not screened in, and almost every other house in Sunset Captiva has a screened porch that we missed having. Everything was clean and in good working order, however, and the property manager was very helpful while booking and when we needed assistance with the wifi. The wifi was a bit sporadic and we could not always connect to it - since it was vacation, it wasn't urgent and didn't bother us much. The basics are provided in the home, but fewer amenities than other places we've stayed - for example, other homes have provided a radio, books, DVDs, more beach towels, beach chairs, wagons, pool and beach toys - and this one didn't. Overall, we will likely look for a different location in the same community for next time, but would book this again if we couldn't find a different house.
