This should be a 5-star rental
We stayed for about 5 weeks. The unit needs a simplified manual to operate the many high-tech items including the thermostat, coffee makers, dishwasher and fan controls. The OUTDOOR DECK IS UNUSABLE due to the huge quantity of dust on the lounge furniture. The lounge chairs provided had OLD AND DUSTY cushions. There were no chaise lounges. The grill had cleaning tools but NO dedicated grill utensils. The only condiment provided was an almost empty saltshaker. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes until we discovered that the hot water at the kitchen sink needed to be run for about 5 minutes in order to get hot water to the dishwasher. The kitchen faucet would not stay on longer than a few minutes. The dining, kitchen and master bedrooms had ceiling fans with linked remote-controls and no instructions. Turning one on would turn the others on. WE SPENT TWO NIGHTS IN AN 89 DEGREE ROOM. I troubleshooted the cooling system, reported findings but the problem was not adequately addressed. Air conditioning failure should be considered to be an emergency comfort issue; the management should take more action than an apology. THE MASTER BEDROOM NEEDS BLACKOUT SHADES, especially on the glass door. WE DID NOT SLEEP WELL DUE TO THE LIGHT.In short: We do not expect perfection, and problems will always happen. It is the response of management to normal problems that sets 5-star places apart from the rest.
