Complete dump, NOT A "GEM" AT ALL
First of all when I initial request the booking, they allowed the time to lapse so the booking was canceled. I wrote them an email asking why it was canceled, they asked me to request again. That should have been the first red flag. I sent an email asking if the kitchen was equipped with items for cooking and making tea and their very vague response was "some items will be there." Second red flag. I had to email the host and request the check in details, the day of my arrival. Upon entering the house had a musty, bleach type smell. The walls were disgustingly filthy. My toddler's feet and hands were BLACK from walking and playing on the floor. There were huge stains on the comforter, mold growing through the bedroom ceiling. There was absolutely nothing in the kitchen cabinets, actually there were 4 or 5 plates and 2 plastic spoons. There was 1 bottle of hand soap in the entire house. The yard was a disaster, over grown, vines everywhere, the perfect habitat for snakes. We drove in for a 60th birthday party and had an hour to get ready. We dressed as quickly as we could to get out of there immediately. When I contacted the host they responded fairly quickly and said they would have a professional cleaner over immediately to clean the house and change the sheets, but would not address the mold issue. My toddler is special needs and immune compromised. They offered to place me in another accommodation of theirs that was in BAYTOWN, which is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE side of town!
