About this property
Charming 2-bedroom historic house set on 2 acres with a meandering stream.
Looking to reconnect with loved ones and go back in time when life was simple, stay at "Haven in the Holler". This simple beauty offers the perfect space to disconnect from the "noise" of the world we live in, and focus on more important things in life, connections with those we cherish. Enjoy the serenity and abundant beauty of the area. The house is set on 2 acres, towards the top of the mountain with a meandering creek. Your life won't be the same after a stay in the Holler.
This beautiful little gem is approaching 200 years old. We have left many of the historic elements intact during the renovation (hand hewn posts, hardwood floors, ship lap on walls, fireplace mantle and surround) and used materials that complement the spaces and surrounding area. The house is simple in design but BIG in comfort and warmth. Memory foam mattresses with mattress toppers on all beds. Comfortable fluffy pillows with extra pillows on the bed, or available for each bed. High Thread count linens on King and Queen Beds. Multiple spaces inside and outside set up to accentuate the loveliness of the home and land. The house is minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Little Switzerland, Gem Mines, and all the attractions in the Burnsville and Spruce Pine communities. The house intentionally does not have Wifi, so the focus can be on disconnecting from the outside world and reconnecting with those you love. If you don't love the historic charm of an old home, this is not the place for you. If you want or need WiFi, this is not the place for you. If you want to slow your pace from the everyday world and interact with the outstanding beauty of the area, this is the house for you.

About the host
Hosted by Julie Rozella

I'm originally from the Finger Lakes area of New York State and have an appreciation for naturally beautiful landscapes. which brought me to "Haven in the Holler". I have a passion to save old worn down houses and bring them back to their former beauty and better.
Why they chose this property
The house is set upon 2 acres nearly at the top of the mountain. There is a small stream/creek that runs across the lot with an island. A man bridge/walkway gives you access to the island portion of the lot. If you walk to the top of the property you have beautiful views of the surrounding area with the mountain range as a backdrop. The house is located in a close knit community with a handful of houses. I hope you feel the same sense of peace and tranquility I do when I visit.
What makes this property unique
The house is an original Appalachian style design very common in this mountain region. Many of the historic original elements were preserved and accentuated during the renovation. The house has great energy that permeates your soul.
