Peaceful Paradise

This is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the metroplex. It is so amazingly quiet, except for the various sounds of nature, and the stars at night will take your breath away. The treehouse is beautifully crafted with wide, sturdy stairs, a spacious deck with multiple seating areas overlooking the larger pond, and a cozy enclosed room with a mattress that takes up most of the space plus a small padded loft area above. The windows all have screens on them and can be opened to allow as much or little breeze as you desire - keep in mind there is no AC/heat so it gets quite warm in the sun and is chilly at night so be sure to bring plenty of layers and warm blankets. The outhouse is clean and well maintained and only a few yards from the treehouse.Lots of trees, trails, a couple of small beautiful ponds, and lovely clearings for exploring and enjoying.

Relaxing with good company

This place was magic, quiet, and peaceful. The view from the tree house is amazing and the tree house it self is beautifully crafted. The host was so kind and welcoming even going as far as making us a fire and sharing a few languages highly recommend for any needing an escape.

Host profile image
Born & lived in Dallas for 45 years, was weekend country boy for years, acquired this property 30 years ago and been full time country for 25 years. Described by some as a nature nut and have surrounding myself with the positive energy of mother nature. Ironically, I am an extreme extrovert which is why I've been hosting parties, campouts and luaus all these years. Love bringing good people together, helping others develop a passion for the outdoors, building lifetime friendships, sharing good times and creating great memories. I also organize an Meetup group North Texas Camping & Dining. Positive, active folks who share a passion for outdoor activities and FOOD. We believe that sharing food is the most social thing people can do. Our Saturday night pot luck dinners are legendary!

Why they chose this property

Only 1 hour from Dallas, feels very remote. Wooded & secluded at the end of a one lane tree canopied road. Incredibly quite. Part of the largest stand of old growth, virgin creek bottom forest in Kaufman. Lots of wildlife

What makes this property unique

Mostly never cleared, never developed, never in ag use, a virgin native forest. The only clearing that has been done is for my house site, two ponds and the trails. The ponds and campsites can not be seen from the road. 1 mile down at the very end of the road, back in the woods- it's pretty magical. No hunting allowed- this is a nature preserve. Adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park on two sides. They have 900 exotic animals, many can be seen from the road.
