About this property
Far from the Madding Crowd
This charming stone house is a typical example of Mallorcan rural architecture. It sits in a 23,000 m2 estate made up of a combination of typical Mallorcan hillside terraces, used for crop growing, and pine trees that climb the slopes of Puig de Randa, a 543-metre elevation crowned by Cura Shrine.
The two-storey 200 m2 house boasts three bedrooms and a fully-equipped bathroom with a shower on the upper floor, plus a spacious lounge with a fireplace, room with a sofa-bed that doubles as an interactive games room, and reading room.
The entrance to the house leads into a large living room with a typical Mallorcan fireplace, ensuring a warm cosy atmosphere on winter nights and the possibility of fireside meals as you grill food over the hearth.
The house’s exquisite décor and family antiques lend it a charming, romantic feel.
The estate stands in privileged natural surroundings whose care and conservation are fundamental. Because this is an isolated mountain dwelling, it does not have access to public transport.
Likewise, there are no nearby supermarkets, shops or restaurants. To buy supplies, a trip must be made to the town of Llucmajor. Because it is in the middle of the countryside, the house has its own electricity and water supplies, thanks to the use of solar panels and cistern and irrigation tanks.
Guests have access to the whole house and estate, except for the place where the generator is kept and shed for storing maintenance equipment and materials.
We want our guests to feel as if they were in their own homes and so we try not to get in the way. Having said that, we try to ensure fluid communication both before and during guests’ stays and we are on hand all around the clock to provide assistance if required. We also deal with the maintenance of the pool, cistern tank and generator.
The house can only be reached along a 3.7km forest track and so we advise guests to use a SUV or 4x4, although a small run-around car is also possible but less convenient.
