About this property
Mountain Pool Cabana - 10 Mins to Playa Azul
Enjoy the Holidays in the best spot on the East Coast! The Cabana is the perfect place to have it all. Private pool, cool spa and outdoor kitchen are just steps from our tiny pool cabana. Located in the mountains of Juan Martin you'll enjoy quiet, country life. But just 15 mins to Luquillo Beach & 20 to El Yunque Rainforest. Shopping in Fajardo is 7 mins down the mountain.
We live on site but the cabana is the "3rd level" above the pool. It's private and tranquil, and has every thing you need!
The space
Our "open-air" cabana is fully screened with custom waterproof, roll-up curtains to allow for the best breeze and great views. The Tropical Boho vibe is the perfect place for relaxing. The main room features a full size memory foam bed, storage hooks and cubbies, two fans and power outlets.
The bathroom has a water closet and sink with Kuerig coffee station. The attached indoor/outdoor shower has rainfall and regular shower heads, earth friendly soaps, turkish towels and robes and it's own hot water heater.
A few steps away is the outdoor kitchen with gas grill, small refrigerator, blender, side burner, microwave, island with barstools, small sink, drinking water and utensils/pans/dishes. There is a bistro set right outside the cabana and plenty of pool side seating as well.
We have floats and toys for the pool and beach for your use. You can even play dominos, a favorite in Puerto Rico, in the pool or spa with our floating domino table.
We are located right between Luquillo and Fajardo, the perfect place to explore all the east coast has to offer! See our Guidebooks - Carabali Rainforest Park offers horse back riding, ATVs and more. There is zip lining, river tours, a chocolate farm, the Bioluminescent Bay in Fajardo, snorkeling and more all within about a half hour from us.
Guest access
We have 2.5 acres to explore. Our house is street side and you get private access to everything behind us. There are tropical plants, flowers and fruit trees throughout and a rocky ravine you can hike up when it's dry. After a rain shower it becomes your own waterfall as the water drains down the mountain into Rio Juan Martin, the small river that forms the valley in front of our house.
You'll hear a variety of exotic birds including the endangered Puerto Rican Amazon parrots. These bright green cuties buzz through our valley a few times a day. They are fast so you may only catch a glimpse but you can't miss their gleeful chirping!
And then there's the coqui... They are so cute and so small but quite loud, especially after rain. Our rooster lives with our neighbor now, but you can still hear him faintly. We have ear plugs available.
Other things to note
We live on the edge of the Rainforest. The weather can be unpredictable and there can be occasional critters. Nothing to worry about! The area has been treated and The Cabana is fully screened and waterproof. We have ponchos and umbrellas too!
We also have our share of power and water outages. We have a 300 gallon cistern, solar and usb lights and a portable generator for extended outages. No refunds will be given for weather or power disruptions. We will work with you if a storm comes into our area.
It's a small space but everything has its place! Just bring a carry on and a couple of backpacks, we'll have anything you need here.
Our family bought an abandoned home in the mountains of Juan Martin. We've spent the last year and a half restoring the property and building the Pool Cabana to host fellow adventurers.
