About this property

Clean Comfortable Quiet Uptown Refuge near Park & Streetcar

***Nightingale’s Guest Inn is located in a beautiful, turn of the century, uptown home that has been in our family for four generations!
Just steps to the historic New Orleans Saint Charles Streetcar, our home is clean, comfortable, conveniently located and very pretty! You'll be staying in a sunny, quiet, newly renovated, second-floor apartment.
***We just painted our living room in two lovely shades called “Full Moon” and “White Raisin.” This warm look creates a classic, relaxed atmosphere. Take the historic Streetcar down Saint Charles Avenue to see beautiful old mansions. Or stop along the way to dine at one of our fine restaurants. The streetcar will bring you to Canal Street where you can get off and visit the French Quarter.

Our home offers many AMENITIES: Beautiful Antiques & modern furniture, 3 comfy, Queen-Sized beds with comfy mattresses and soft bedding, plus a sofa bed, a daybed and a baby bed. Please see below.

Brand new! We just added a pretty Twin-sized Daybed to the Middle bedroom for our guests’ comfort. Whether you prefer sleeping solo or have a little one, we believe you will sleep soundly on this Memory foam mattress.

Baby Doll! We just purchased a Graco Pack 'N Play, cotton jersey knit sheets and a soft Coney Island baby blanket. This can be brought to your bedroom so your baby can rest by your side. We also got a safety gate and a baby bath for your youngster's comfort and safety.

Plus, in the living room, there is a Queen-sized Sofa bed with a Memory Foam Mattress! You'll also find a Brand new La-Z-Boy Recliner, a new Samsung Smart TV, connected to the Wifi with a free Netflix connection.

Let's start cooking!
Our Galley Kitchen is fully furnished with a Stove, a brand new Kitchen Aid dishwasher and other new appliances such as a Samsung Refrigerator & Microwave + Cuisinart Toaster and Coffee Maker.
There is also a new set of high-quality Pots and Pans.
In the pantry, you'll find the standards of salt, pepper, sugar and honey. We also provide breakfast cereal, a box of assorted teas, coffee and cream. Yum!

The 2nd floor apartment is about 1,600 sq. ft., with 3 sunny bedrooms, tall ceilings, Central AC and Heating & ceiling fans. Two beds are modern Wilkerson Row styles and one is an antique Italian Angelhead, all with brand-new mattresses and fresh, soft bedding. The back porch deck features a reclaimed teak bench and chairs and a view of the backyard.

Guess what? We have just added furniture and a charcoal Barbecue Pit to our shady backyard patio so you can light up the grill!

Again, we're just off the Streetcar line, and close to TULANE & LOYOLA UNIVERSITIES, AUDUBON PARK, Maple Street and the Carrollton Riverbend area where you can walk to great cafes, restaurants, chic and secondhand clothing stores, bookstore and many other family-owned businesses!

Looking for fun and amusements?
Walk a few blocks to Audubon Park to play a round of golf, a game of tennis, go horseback riding or discover the Audubon Park Zoo. Or head on over to Magazine Street to continue exploring other wonderful restaurants, cafes, furniture and antiques stores.

If you're thinking of other activities, consider an excursion downtown to the foot of Canal St. to the Aquarium of the Americas, Woldenberg Riverfront Park, the Entergy Movie Theater, the Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, or maybe take a steamboat a walk through the French Quarter. There is lots to see and do here!
Have fun!

Hope you can visit!!

P.S. Be careful coming up our street because there are many potholes.

Beautiful and welcoming stay in the Crescent City!

We have stayed in several VRBO's in NOLA. This was the easiest and nicest we have stayed in. The location is perfect, easy to get wherever you need to go. We hope to stay here again!

Good location —Update interior

Good location and great old bones on this 100+ year old home. New or freshened furniture— especially in living room and freshened curtains and bed linens will elevate this experience.

Great stay, gracious host

Delightful and large apartment (we were a family of 4 and a family of 4) in a terrific location, close to local restaurants and bars on Maple St. but very peaceful location on a quiet street. Two blocks from the streetcar. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of room. Jennifer is a delightful, generous, and gracious host. Will definitely re-book!

Perfect place for parent’s weekend at Tulane

We were visiting our daughter for parent’s weekend at Tulane. This apartment was a perfect place for our visit. It was walking distance to all of the events and to Audubon park and Magazine Street. The apartment itself was very clean and had everything we could ask for. Jennifer our host provided breakfast items and all of the cosmetics anyone could need. The beds and the pillows were extremely comfortable. Jennifer was very responsive to all of our needs and it was a pleasure meeting her and her family!

Pleasant stay

Went to NOLA for a weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday and this house was beautiful. Jennifer has done a great job with the decoration and has everything one can need, she was very nice and gave us recommendations of places to go. Unfortunately we weren't able to go due to time, but I would definitely recommend staying at her house. Will definitely stay at her house if I ever go back to NOLA.

Great location, beautifully appointed

This was our first VRBO stay, and it was a learning experience. Jennifer was a patient and attentive host. The apartment was very nice, and the beds were comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the barking dog nearby.

Clean, very comfortable, and great location!

This apartment is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be based in Uptown. It is within easy walking distance of Tulane, Audubon Park, and great restaurants on Maple and that vicinity. The apartment is very large, clean and comfortable, and Jennifer the owner, is incredibly responsive and helpful. She stocked great breakfast foods and beverages, and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. She was also extremely responsive if we had any questions. Perfect stay for us

We stayed here in May- the owner was the perfect host- she made us so comfortable and was available for questions . The apartment had three bedrooms with comfortable beds and lovely bedding. We used the kitchen for breakfast and found juice , coffee, and cereal supplied for our stay. It was the perfect uptown location for us.

Absolutely wonderful home and gracious hostess. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We came for graduation from Tulane Medical School. This home was wonderful! Large bedrooms, kitchen and dining/living room that easily accommodated us. The home is beautifully decorated and provided a quiet space after the hectic activities of graduation. The beds were luxurious-especially after a busy day. The neighborhood was quiet and we were very comfortable walking it. It's also very close to Audobon park and my bf enjoyed using the running path there to get in some exercise. Jennifer is such a gracious and thoughtful hostess- we were welcomed with fresh flowers on the table, and fresh orange juice and other "goodies" in the kitchen. She was always available, helpful and thoughtful. The location is walking distance to coffee shops, trollies and other places. It's a 10 to 15 minute uber to most "tourist" places. Street parking was easy. We loved our stay here and several friends who stayed with us asked for the information because they want to stay here next time they visit.

could not recommend more!!!!

we came for jazzfest with 3 other couples (8 total people) and it was absolutely perfect. the rooms are spacious and very comfortable! the whole place is very charming and feels like home base! Jennifer makes sure you have everything you need and we could not have been more grateful. From little touches like fresh flowers and bath products to packing the fridge with yummy New Orleans treats... not a detail is spared! She couldn't be nicer, a great person! Great apartment with awesome location! Right near Maple street where we loved to walk and get coffee. Also right off the street car line so it's a great jump off point. Love staying uptown, beyond charming New Orleans feel. Could not recommend this apartment more and looking forward to staying again!!

Perfect for six

This is a perfect place to stay. The location was a block away from St. Charles's street car with easy access to the French Quarter. The beds, bedding and towels were all first rate. The two bathrooms were both updated. The kitchen was nicely equipped with the essentials for a short stay. Jennifer went out of her way to make sure everything was just right. It is an upstairs unit that is in a quite and safe neighborhood. There is a fun private outdoor deck at the rear to enjoy coffee or cocktails. We highly recommend this place and plan to stay here again on our next trip down. Beats staying in a cramped hotel any day. Like a second home!

Mardi Gras weekend

We stayed at Jennifer's home for Mardi Gras weekend. The home is beautiful and Jennifer made us feel very welcome. We had snacks, drinks and fresh flowers to greet us on our arrival. As stated earlier, the home is very nice. It spacious, the beds are comfy and it has all the comforts of home. There are many good restaurants nearby and we felt quite safe walking in the area. We had 3 couples in our group and we all agreed that we would stay here on our next visit. A great place to stay when visiting NOLA !

Amazing facility

Jennifer is an amazing host. Everything is carefully chosen to make your staying unforgettable. So many details in her house will make you feel at home. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice and so clean. Kitchen very well equipped. Washing machines available. Jennifer will also show you the cool places to go in the safe neighborhood. It is 30 meters from the street-car stop that will bring you downtown. It is also possible to do jogging day and night, no security problems. Finally, it is 7 minutes walking from Tulane University. Perfect place for 6 people. I will come back. Pour les français, Jennifer parle parfaitement notre langue. Je recommande cet endroit, vous ne serez pas déçus.
