Great for group of friends getting together

The property was great for our group and had multiple sitting areas where people could play games or just chat. Really unique experience with the animals who were very friendly. We liked the peacocks and horses the most.

Odd

Not what we expected. Should have read reviews. There is a camper people stay in outside your window. Someone else lives in the garage. The neighborhood is pretty run down.

Love this place!

This place is truly magical if you love animals and a farm atmosphere. If you don’t like animals/farms this isn’t for you. We loved spending time with the animal residents; goats, pigs, ponies, alpacas and an emu named Moo Moo. We still talk about (and miss) the good dogs, Rocky, Chase & Coco. There is a beautiful garden outside the kitchen that Corey said we could help ourselves to. We picked tomatoes, zucchini & herbs to compliment our meals. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment to make delicious meals and the house is clean and comfortable. We had room to spread out but could spend time cooking & lounging together as well. The river is a short walk down their private road (please respect the neighbors property) and a lake/pond with paddle boards and kayaks. Thank you to Corey & Co. for everything!! We will be back!

Misleading info

Celebrating our 55th anniversary by renting a home that would accommodate 14 people. When I found this on VRBO, we were very excited. Both my wife and I were born and raised on ranches in Wyoming. We wanted our kids and grandchildren to experience the animals. The description of the property, led us to believe that there was guest cottage, a caretaker and owner on the property but there was no shared living area (correct) What was omitted was that the guest cottage was a converted two car garage that was attached to the house we were renting, and there was an RV rental about 10’ outside of our master bedroom, several RV rentals on the other side of the pond, owner’s house also had a shared rental, and a house boat on the pond was also used as a rental. The main house has a back porch and has a large, enclosed area that other guest would walk though to look at the animals - adjacent to the back patio deck was the animal corral. When and where I grew up, livestock pens and facilities were never close (adjacent to) the home for obvious reasons. Our grandkids love the connection with the pigs, goats, chickens, horses and alpacas along with fishing from the dock. Things can go wrong, and I understand that. After arrival, Corey told us that the dryer had quit working before we got there, and he had ordered repair parts from Amazon. Fortunately, some of our kids had not left home yet, so we had them bring as many wash rags and towels as they could grab. When we left six days later, still no dryer and no apology for not having a washer and dryer as advertised. During our stay, the septic system backed up – I’m sure that it was designed and approved for a three-bath home and now there are two more bathrooms and 17-18 people using it and maxed its limit. An 8-hour power outage, Walter (caretaker) brought a flashlight and Corey (owner) brought two more by. We used the firepit for fun and outside games. We feel that we were misled by the description of the property. If you are renting this unit, just know you have limited privacy and can expect people to walk past you on the back porch while enjoying a drink so that they can pet/feed the animals – nice people but strange circumstances.

Great stay again

This is the second time I have stayed at this location. First was for work, this time was for fun. The property is amazing and the owners are great. So nice to have all the animals around. Nice quiet place to relax and enjoy yourself. Close to a lot of fun things to do. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in the Grand Junction area.

Enjoyed the river

This was a great house there was tons of room. We enjoyed cooking steaks on the grill in the garden. We enjoyed all the animals but the little pig Kenny was one of our favorites. The river is just a short walk from the house and we floated the river several times it was nice being able to hope out grab something to eat and start back over at the park. We really enjoyed the location of this house and we would visit again.

If you have a love for animals, beautiful views, and friendly accommodating people- this is the place! Corey and Jackie (owners ) and Walter (animal caretaker) were friendly and fun/interesting to talk with. The house had everything you would need and was very comfortable and nice. The animals were amazing! Dogs, peacocks, chickens, alpacas, goats, emu, pigs, and even baby piglets were there to welcome you! And this place is close to the wineries, Grand Junction, Colorado National Monument, ETC. Thank you Corey and Jackie! We will be back :)

Fabulous Grand Junction farm Airbnb!

Staying on a farm with pigs, alpaca, goats was so much fun. The house was great. Unfortunately it was too cold to take advantage of the lake or neighboring colorado river. Hope to be back during the warmer weather.

EMU Dance off

Had a great time here. Plenty of space for our large group of 13. Everyone enjoyed feeding the animals, and the Emu cracked us all up with his unusual dance moves. Walter the grounds keeper was super friendly, he let us feed the animals, and even left carrots for us to treat the animals later in the day. We were here in the middle of an unusual cold front, the furnace wasn't working, but the pellet stove and supplemental electric heaters worked well to keep us warm. We would love to come back in the summer and take advantage of the pond and river access. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great place for friends gathering

We had a great time. The property was very clean and Al the caretaker was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for our ladies wine tasting weekend The grounds of the house are very scenic with the Colorado river a short walk away. During our stay there were people staying in the guest house which is attached to the main house but with a separate entrance. There was also various other guests in smaller houses or campers on the property. They were all very friendly but do expect you may see them on the patio or in front of the window petting the animals. Al introduced us to all the animals, dogs, goats, pigs, chickens. Expect to hear them and see them wandering around. They were all very friendly except the black pig got a little nippy once so be warned. There were 7 of us staying at the house so we all had our own bed and there are 3 full bathrooms. Perfect place for a group or several families looking to get away to the country. Thanks to Corey for sharing his house with us we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Interesting place

Four families stayed here for a long weekend and upon arriving were met by one caretaker who showed us around a bit and explained a few things, one being the pond and how we could use the canoe and access the pond. Access to the pond is now by a tiny home (not in the pictures on the vrbo listing) and there are several other rental/caretaker units on the property. There are also two camper trailers on the river “beach” (which is just rocks leading into the river). After we paddle boarded on the pond I was called and texted by the caretaker & owner saying -“Ok well their seems to be miscommunication i am telling u know one in your group can go anywhere near the tiny house u cannot fish off deck access lake from tiny house etc there r guest in there and they have the right to privacy u can access the lake anywhere besides the tiny house” and “it seems we are having issues w your group following rules and instructions can you straighten this out or is this not going to work and we need to terminate reservation” (exact text messages sent to me). There isn’t another way to access the pond because the shore is very steep and grassy. Also, the animals are cute, but you can’t leave anything out on the back porch because the goats chew on everything and you have to lock the doors because the pigs can open them and come in the house. The house was nice and clean, but all in all there were too many property rules for us and being watched by the caretakers was not relaxing.

Our wonderful stay at the Colorado Riverfront Farm!

My family had a wonderful time all being together in one place. We didn't even know it, but it was right down the road from my son's wedding venue which made it perfect. It also is so close to the town of Palisades that made it very convenient for our other activities. This place is amazing and I don't know who had more fun us big kids or the little kids. The site of the home is so pretty and the home itself is beautiful. It had every possible thing we needed to be comfortable and have a great time. We enjoyed the walks down to the river and getting to interact with all of the animals. The caretaker, Cheryl, was very helpful and very friendly and answered our many questions. Thank you to Corey for answering our questions so promptly and making it possible for my family to be able to stay in your beautiful home. Peggy Janicek, submitted September 6, 2018
