About this property
Peaceful Oasis by the Great Salt Bay 3BR 2Ba
Waterfront Retreat with Gorgeous Views
Stunning 3-bedroom, 2-bath home perfect for multi-generational gatherings. Features an open-concept layout, chef’s kitchen, 1st-floor bedroom and bath, 2nd floor with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Kayak from your backyard, hike nearby trails, or swim in Damariscotta Lake just a 5-minute walk away. Stay connected with high-speed fiber optic WiFi. Close to charming Newcastle and Damariscotta shops and restaurants. A true oasis for nature and relaxation lovers!
This modern, comfortable home is designed for easy living. The open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area flows seamlessly to sliders leading to the deck, garden, and water’s edge.
The open-concept cook’s kitchen is fully equipped for preparing everything from casual breakfasts to gourmet meals. It features a gas stove, ample counter space, quality cookware, and plenty of storage for your provisions. For outdoor chefs, there’s a gas grill ready for dining on the deck overlooking the garden and water.
The living area offers comfy seating and a smart TV with streaming channels.
A first-floor bedroom and full bath with double shower heads and laundry make one-floor living a breeze.
Upstairs, enjoy a spacious primary bedroom with a walk-in dressing room and full bath, a second bedroom, and a versatile common area perfect for yoga, games, or relaxing.
All bedrooms are thoughtfully appointed with soft, high-quality linens to ensure restful nights.
Steps from the historic Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder, this home is a bird-lover’s paradise. Watch eagles and osprey diving for alewives from May to July, and enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets right from the backyard.
Two kayaks and a canoe are available for guest use after signing a waiver. While we provide a few life preservers, bringing your own ensures the best fit. Please note, no kayaking is permitted directly at our water’s edge from April 20 to June 20 (per state law protecting the alewife migration). However, you can launch kayaks just down the road or at Damariscotta Lake. Feel free to reach out with questions!
This home offers an extraordinary front-row seat to nature’s wonders while providing all the comforts you need.
Family friendly amenities: baby gates, pack n play, high chair, wading pool.
Guests will have access to the whole house.
Ani and Gil are available by phone or text to answer any questions
Everything you could want is within close proximity. Hiking trails, boating, world-class fishing, fresh oysters, breweries, restaurants and shops. For convenience, there are grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, and Reny's - everything you'd need within a 5-10 minute drive. Downtown Newcastle/Damariscotta is less than 2 miles away
Water activities: we offer 2 kayaks and a canoe. Head out the back door onto the Great Salt Bay; there's miles to explore. (This area is not suitable for swimming)
Please note - kayaking is not possible directly from the property from 4/20-6/20 each year. It's the run of the alewives - the remarkable journey of a million alewives (a form of herring) from the Gulf of Maine to Damariscotta Lake, right past our door. Instead, you will be given a stunning show of wildlife, including bald eagles, osprey, and migratory birds that stop to enjoy an abundance of food. If you're interested in kayaking during this time, the kayaks will be available to use in the lake or for put in just down the road.
Swimming: take a 5-minute walk to the idyllic local swimming "hole" at Damariscotta Lake, a public dock and jump off.
Hiking: Salt Bay Preserve skirts the northern and eastern shore of Glidden Point. The 1.5 mile trail begins with boardwalks across a salt marsh and follows the shoreline of the Great Salt Bay.
leave your shoes at the door.
must sign liability waiver for use of kayaks or water equipment.
If you use the bbq grill, leave it in same clean condition as on arrival or there will be an additional charge - up to $75.
