This was the perfect place for our family of 5 to enjoy and explore the snow! It was comfortable and had everything we needed! It snowed a ton while we were there so we got to enjoy the neighborhood sledding hill and play in the snow! This is closer to the town of Plain than Leavenworth. Wonderful snow getaway! We would recommend to all!
This location was beautiful and helped us to complete our winter Christmas vision. The only problem was that it was located a little far (about 30-35minutes) from town. But this place is amazing if you are looking for a weekend getaway. My kids wanted to stay longer.
Had everything we needed for a mom and two little girls
All was great. Communication with owner was excellent. The front door combo was a bit finicky. Had to keep trying to get it to accept our button presses, but finally got our finesse just right. We would love to come again and recommend this for small or large groups. Could easily accommodate lots of people. If we could change anything, we would have loved there to be throw blankets on the couches, but perhaps due to the pandemic those were removed.
We stayed here during a snowy weekend in January. Both cabins were so nice - decorated in a fun log house theme. Nice amenities - lots of spices in the cupboard and condiments in the fridge. The owner was very good at communication. The hot tub was great on a cold winter evening.

Will not reserve this house!!!
As soon as we checked in, we noticed on of the rooms heat was not working!! All of the beds had hair and food crumbs!! They did not change the bed sheets at all!! We sent the owners a message about this! They got back to us the next following day in the late afternoon. Which then the next day our main heater broke. And they couldn't fix it until 6pm. Horrible!! Horrible!! Horrible!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sunshine Daydream Cabin and would love to come back. One of the days our group rented snowshoes and snowshoed down to the river and then came back to the cabin to warm up in the hot tub. The cabin is as advertised and was a great winter retreat.
We stayed here at the end of November with a group of close friends and we loved our stay. The home was clean, had everything we needed for cooking breakfast in the morning, was decorated beautifully for the holiday season, and had plenty of space for us 3 couples! We would all definitely stay here again!
Very nice property located 30 minutes away from Leavenworth. Great set up with the main cabin and a separate sleeping quarters located in garage turn living space. This worked well for our two families, 8 total people. My 16yr old had the loft all to himself. Very minimum issues quickly resolved. If you get a chance to travel don’t miss this place. You also don’t want to miss the reindeer farm, fun for all ages.
The cabin was very nice, but as it was my first vrbo and I felt that the extra charges were quite expensive. It is a very nice community that is close to Leavenworth, Lake Wenatchee, the river, and the town of Plain.
Great place and location. The kids really enjoyed the ski lift swing and the hot tub. The lodge in back is a great spot to store the kids at night. They ended up sleeping in the nooks instead of on the beds.
Eight of us enjoyed our stay at this impeccably kept cabin! We had a question while we were there and the owner was really quick with her email AND voicemail reply. If you like renting in the Ponderosa community I would recommend it. It’s in a good central location to trails and the river. Great place to bike ride! We enjoyed walking to the beachy river access at the clubhouse. We didn’t really know the community so made the wrong assumption that it would be a bit more secluded than it was. There are neighbors pretty close next door on each side so you really do need to watch the late night noise. We didn’t receive any complaints and we didn’t hear the neighbors either though. Our friends who stayed in the main floor bedroom wished that the bed was softer but everyone else was pleased with their beds. Plenty of places to sleep! Overall the cabin is darling and extremely clean. We loved the beautiful floors and staircase and of course you can’t beat the color changing lights in the hot tub!
Absolutely loved our cabin for the weekend! We rented it for my daughters 19th birthday, we had a lot of family with us! It was so cozy and welcoming! The hot tub was very relaxing at the end of the days!! Will definitely go back!!!
This property was perfect for our stay with teenage kids!
The cabins were perfect for our group of adults and teens! It was stocked with all the conveniences of home and was very clean! The owner was very responsive and reached out before our stay to alert us to neighborhood happenings as well as updating us on the snow that would be coming during our stay! Which was a wonderful surprise and so beautiful! Will definitely stay again!
Really enjoyed this place. It’s fully stoked and beautiful. Loved the wood finishes and such. Was perfect for small group of friends to celebrate my birthday. Super close to the lake and the river. Did a float. Close to 4x4 trails for hiking and shooting. Hot tub was wonderful. Will definitely be back in the winter to see it again :)
We had a great time during or visit to this cabin. The both buildings are nice looking and cozy. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with tools, pots/pans, and appliances, etc. We were able to cook regular meals. The sleds were in various states of functionality (as they tend to get over time) — if you are very serious about your sledding recommend bringing your own. Our young kids were very appreciative of the toy bin. The hot tub was a fun treat! We hope to come back next year.
Spent a weekend with my extended family—all adults and teens. We were all comfortable and the house is well equipped and set up nicely for family time.

Perfect getaway weekend
The cabin was in great condition in a secluded and private neighborhood. We only had 2 couples stay, but easily could have had more friends join! So excited to return to the winter wonderland:)

Really nice cabin in a great location
We had a great Christmas stay here. The cabin is very well appointed, clean and cozy. The extra rooms in the outbuilding worked out great for us. Nice quiet neighborhood with a really good sledding hill close by for the kids. Lots of Sno-Parks nearby (15 min drive) Owner was excellent to work with and provided lots of helpful hints about the area. Highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Katie Hanson
We purchased this cabin as a family retreat and it has become a dream come true. Time melts away here at the cabin and you become immersed in all the beauty of the eastern Cascades. No matter what season of the year it is there is something to call you to the outdoors. Come see for yourself.
Why they chose this property
This area of the Cascades is so special. We are situated on the dry side of the mountain range and get some of he best snow in the state. Stevens Pass is just up the road, cross country skiing abounds, snow shoeing trails are everywhere, and that's just winter fun (minus a snowmobile). In spring and summer we have river outings, hiking, fishing and a host of other outdoor activities. Plain is about the most perfect location in the Central Eastern Cascades.
What makes this property unique
The town of Plain, WA is centrally located in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. No matter what season of the year there is always something to do outdoors, or simply relax and do nothing at all and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain environment.
