About this property
Historic Edge of the River, Adirondacks
Edge of the River is located on the bank of the beautiful Boquet River in the heart of the Adirondacks. This is the perfect location to start your ADK adventures or just stay home and enjoy the peace and solitude of the river.
Dating back to 1776, this historic home blends character and charm with all the comforts of a modern home. Decorated in elevated "camp style" it is filled with unique items, vintage finds, original local art and comfortable cozy beds.
This is a warm and inviting home designed to make lasting memories with family and friends. Use the amazing chef's kitchen to create wonderful meals at home. Get the entire family involved around the large island. Fully equipped with everything you need. Guests love our comfortable mattresses and cozy bedding. The inside is great but the outdoor space steals the show. There is a firepit with 6 Adirondack chairs for s'mores or fondue. Summer will find you swimming in the river or lounging on the rock beach. Evenings are spent around the large dining room table playing cards or one of the many games available. Our family has epic Mexican Train evenings. The large patio has seating and tables for alfresco dining. If getting out in nature is your thing, the Adirondacks do not disappoint. There are hikes for all skill levels, charming towns to explore and memories to be made. It is truly one of the most beautiful places to visit. Rent a boat or kayak and explore the vast and one of a kind Lake Champlain. Don't forget the winter season, Whiteface Mountain is just 23 miles and less than an hour away. If skiing and boarding are your thing you will love Whiteface. Take the ferry over to Vermont and explore Stowe or Killington.
Willsboro offers a public golf course, public tennis and pickleball courts, lots of hiking, a boat launch to Lake Champlain and so much more. Nearby Westport Marina offers boat and kayak rentals.
Less than 10 minutes to the Vermont ferry (Essex to Charlotte). You can take the ferry (which is totally fun to do) and explore Burlington Vermont which is just on the other side of Lake Champlain.
Conveniently located 15 minutes from the Northway (Rt 87 Exit 32).
There is a public EV charger walking distance to the house at the Willsboro Visitors Center.
