About this property

The Greenwood, a modern barndominium. Cozy, spacious, and private

Hi, welcome to The Greenwood.  This spacious and modern barndominium is a new build, built on 40 acres, surrounded by woods and overlooking a field.  It has a private driveway where you will feel like you have escaped everyday life and entered a spacious and cozy retreat.   As you drive up, there is a large circular driveway with parking.  You may enter through the covered side porch, furnished with a 17 foot church pew, and unlock your weekend with a keyless entry.  Upon entry, you will be delighted with the spacious living, dining, and kitchen.  It has been filled with cozy seating, throw blankets, dining at a long farmhouse table, decorated as so. You will be charmed by the large Charleston white fireplace that reaches the 18 foot lofted ceilings.  You will also enjoy the 70 inch large screen TV.  And, you will really be delighted by the front, expansive glass sliding doors that take you to a large front porch with Adirondack high top seating, overlooking a field and surrounded by woods.  Outside, you will find a fire-pit with more Adirondack seating.

The kitchen is complete with a full size refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee bar with a drip coffee maker, a dishwasher, an oven, and a stove.  Not only is it stocked, it also quite pleasing to the eye.  It was built for entertainment with open shelving and a fun 10 foot backsplash.  The countertops were made with concrete and buffed to give that modern barndominium vibe.  It also has high top bar seating with bar stools for cocktail hour, appetizers, or even breakfast for the kids.  The kitchen is spacious with a large walk in pantry room off of it. It allows you to throw snacks, extras belongings, bags, coats, etc. in there without cluttering your kitchen.  It’s a kitchen built for restoration, pleasure, and mingling, and we hope you enjoy it.

This modern barndominium has 3 bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 6.  The master has 1 king bed and a private bathroom with a double vanity, pebble floor shower, and of course normal bathroom needs. You enter the private bathroom through a barn sliding door.  The master is accessorized with a 100 year old barn wood accent wall.  It’s homey with a bed full of layers and pillows, giving it a dreamy, relaxing, and cozy vibe.  Bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 share a separate bathroom from the master. It, too, has a pebble floor shower but has a single vanity and of course, the essential needs.  This bathroom sits in a hallway between the two bedrooms but does not connect them.  Bedroom 2 has two full beds with funky green headboards, cozy blankets at the foot of the beds, a full length modern mirror, and a charming antique dresser.  It mixes old and new, giving it an exciting modern look.  Bedroom 3 has 1 queen bed and gives off a white, cozy, and simple vibe.  It too has layers and feels homey.  Each bedroom has its own personality and that was done purposely so!  All 3 bedrooms overlook the woods and give you a feel of nature and rest.  They are layered with blankets and pillows to welcome you to sleep and retreat.  May you sleep well, feel cozy, and enjoy your stay.

We don’t expect you to rough it at The Greeenwood.  It is not camping or glamping.  It’s luxury barn living.  Of course, it has heating and air.  We want you as comfortable as possible.  The heat source is radiant floor heat.  The concrete floors throughout allow the heat to seep through and rise to warm the entire building.  As a result, the concrete floors will feel perfectly warm to little feet running around.

We are located about 25 minutes from Richmond city but have lots of restaurants within 8-20 minutes.  You will find the cute, quaint town of Ashland about 8 minutes away. Shopping and busy life living is about 12 mins away in Short Pump. The closest grocery store is 7 mins away and Walmart is about 10.  We offer rural living but close to the hustle and bustle of Richmond.  We are close to Striker Park, Glover Park, and the Henrico Sports and Events Center.  We are conveniently located outside of Randolph Macon and find ourselves surrounded by wedding venues and a winery or two.

Beautiful property in a peaceful setting

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed all the amenities of The Greenwood with our family. Highly recommend the extra wood set-up for the outdoor wood firepit. We enjoyed sitting outside cooking hot dogs while the kids ran through the fields.
