About the host
Hosted by Brian Peters

I moved to Austin in 1991 and chose to live in Travis Heights because it is the best neighborhood in Austin. I have been hosting for years and enjoying making my guests experience as memorable as possible.
Why they chose this property
Travis Heights is a unique and vibrant neighborhood known for its eclectic mix of natural beauty, historic charm, and modern amenities. Here’s what makes it special:
Location & Views: The neighborhood is located just south of downtown Austin, offering stunning views of the city skyline, Lady Bird Lake, and the Texas Hill Country. It’s an ideal spot for people who want to be close to the city but still enjoy a quieter, more residential vibe.
Travis Heights Park & Outdoor Spaces: With its proximity to Barton Springs, Zilker Park, and the greenbelt, Travis Heights offers ample opportunities for outdoor activities, whether you like hiking, kayaking, or just relaxing in nature. The area is also home to the scenic and beloved Blunn Creek Nature Preserve.
Historic Homes & Architecture: The neighborhood features a mix of charming historic homes dating back to the early 1900s, alongside mid-century modern homes. This gives the area a distinctive, old-meets-new vibe that many people find appealing.
Cultural and Artistic Flair: Travis Heights has an artsy, laid-back atmosphere, with local galleries, funky cafes, and shops sprinkled throughout the area. The neighborhood is often associated with creative individuals who value both the artistic community and the vibrant Austin culture.
Proximity to South Congress: Travis Heights is just a short walk or drive away from South Congress Avenue (SoCo), which is famous for its unique boutiques, eclectic restaurants, food trucks, live music venues, and quirky local businesses. It’s a great place for exploring Austin’s creative and diverse scene.
