About this property

The Stay at The Wildland

The Stay at The Wildland is a non-toxic, peaceful retreat for the whole family, bordered by the historic James River and the sweeping Blue Ridge Mountains. Set a half-mile from the road and surrounded by rolling meadows and beautiful, old trees, and nestled within the largest kincentric rewilding project in Turtle Island, this working farm and retreat is comprised of a 7,000 square foot replica of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home, and a lush landscape of gardens, fields, woods, and water.

*Our Home*
With its six bedrooms, fully equipped and spacious kitchen, two living rooms, a massive rough-hewn oak dining table that seats 14, The Stay at The Wildland is the ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends looking to find peace, a mountain getaway, and a silent night in rural Virginia. Sanitized but not sterile: all of our cleaning is non-toxic and fragrance-free. Sleep without the smells and synthetics: all of our linens are non-toxic and 100% chemical free. Walk the land without worry: there are ABSOLUTELY ZERO pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides used on the entire property. Live well with mitigated EMF exposure: while supplied with high-speed fiber internet, all wifi routers are contained within Faraday cages. This is NOT a smart house.

The home provides plenty of common space, yet it is still designed for luxurious privacy and comfort. The beds are sumptuous, the showers are over-sized, the decor is gorgeous— Modern Colonial and chic— with original art and generously-appointed details everywhere.

Whether you are in town for a wedding or reunion, on a getaway retreat from the busyness of city life, or here to visit the area’s many attractions and wineries, you are bound to love The Wildland for its beauty and accommodations. Personal farm tours with the owner may be arranged, based on availability. Please inquire.

*Guest Access*
Guests have access to the central core of the house, the east wing of house, the bluestone veranda, the swing-set, and the firepit. If you happen to see any of the farm animals, we ask that you please DO NOT touch or feed them. Please do not throw any food over the fences.
