This 4 bedroom 3½ bath Burnt Mountain house in Georgia is situated on one of the southern most ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains making it the closest rental to the metropolitan Atlanta area. From the three story decks, enjoy a spectacular 120 degree long view of Amicalola Falls, Mount Yonah in Lumpkin, County, and other mountains up to 50 miles away on a clear day. Located in northern Dawson County, this house is approximately 6 miles from Amicalola Falls State Park and Burt’s Pumpkin Farm. Nearby towns include Dahlonega, site of the nation’s first gold rush; Jasper, located in the Georgia Marble Belt; Ellijay, the apple capital of Georgia; Blue Ridge, with its scenic railway, and Dawsonville, famous for racing drivers and moonshine. Attractions include rafting on the Chestatee, Etowah, Amicalola, and Coosawattee rivers, hunting and fishing, biking, and hiking. Situated on Burnt Mountain this is a favorite site for bicyclist to enjoy the challenges of the climbing mountain roads. Motorcyclist will enjoy being headquartered in the mountains for easy day trips throughout North Georgia. This house is also in close proximity to the Appalachian Trail, the AT approach trail, the Benton MacKaye Trail, and the Hike Inn Trail, making it an ideal base for day hikes.

Getaway time in the Mountains

Overall we enjoyed out stay at the Amicalola Vista House. The house is nice and spacious and was very clean. There were 5 adults in our party and the home was roomy for us. However there were a few things that could use some attention. We cooked our meals during our stay and some of the pots and baking sheets really need to be replaced. Also there is no salad bowl or mixing bowls. I would also recommend that there be more silverware added. There is a very limited amount.The patio furniture on all of the decks was in need of repair or replacing. The TV in the main floor area was the only TV that you could watch anything on. There was a TV in the primary bedroom, but it could not access anything because it was not connected to WiFi. There didn't seem to be any WiFi available at all. Thankfully this was not a huge problem for us or the other guest although it was an inconvenience.There are no other TVs in the other bedrooms The fireplace was very nice and cozy. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well. So overall our party did enjoy our stay and the views from the decks are amazing. We all are game players and the dining table is great for not only eating meals together at, but also playing games. Everyone said that they would stay here again. Hopefully next stay there will be some new deck furniture that would be safe to sit in to admire that wonderful view.

We so enjoyed our stay at Amicalola Vista House. We loved,Spacious and comfortable Gorgeous views on balcony and back porchPlenty of bathrooms Easy check in and flexible to work withWonderful gas fireplace and excellent temperature control--easy to adjust temperature and home was easily kept comfortable despite cold weather outside Spacious master suiteHorseshoe driveway for easy parkingGas stove and griddle attachmentFamily gamesWashing and dryer available with detergentTucked away from the city; very safe areaLow traffic area and easy to findBeautiful scenic views on the wayThe negative side was poorly placed and unsecured television, No place to place trash and cumbersome arrangements for pick up, No wifi and TVs did not work. I would stay here again. The views are so beautiful.

Mountain house

Awesome view, House is okay not a 5 star,but price fair for the view this house has. Road to house not bad at all. 3 Story’s so there is stairs to go up and down.Very quiet and private, No fire pit outside and no yard area for kid to play and the gas grill was useless rusty out. Bottom floor of house had a little musty smell. But overall not a bad house for the price.

Million Dollar View

Definitely we be planning a trip back to this house! You can not explain how amazing the view is...House was very comfortable and clean. Perfect for 3 - 4 couples. Host was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had. Definitely recommend!

The property was fantastic. Clean, spacious, convenient to towns, hiking, activities for all ages and great vistas for sunrises,(at the house) to sunsets (an overlook about 2 miles away). Would recommend this place to anyone.

The 52 mile view!!

Our stay was fabulous!! The house itself was big with views at all three levels. The kitchen is wonderful with plenty of room so several people could be in it!!

Fabulous "not-so-little" getaway

This is a wonderful property with a million-dollar view of the wooden hills as far as our eyes can see. The place is very well-maintained and it is spacious enough to accommodate our 3 families. Forewarning to those with small children, there are 2 big staircases in the house. We had to maneuver some sort of barrier so that our 1 year old stayed safe. We would definitely come back again!

Beautiful Location

We were attending a wedding in the area and wanted a place where we could stay with our adult children. The property is located near Amicalola Falls State Park and we were able to easily visit the park from the house. The setting is beautiful and the home is nicely appointed. We encountered few hiccups that were out of the control of the owners. The hosts were quick to respond to questions which we appreciated and made for a positive overall experience. We would absolutely recommend staying here. I loved getting up in the morning having my coffee on the deck and watching the sun rise over the blue ridge mountains

Panoramic views over mountains and waterfall

Two families stayed during a weekend in April. It was beautiful with views far out to Amicolola waterfalls. The house had everything we needed. Wifi was fast, the fireplace a charm, and the kitchen equipped just missing a few forks and knives. Some wear and tear was definitely present. The showers downstairs were less ideal with curtains too short or water coming out too hot. Overall recommend for families with older children. We had fun staying at the house, it was very pleasant and quiet.

Get away from it all!

We loved our stay! This rental was the cleanest that I’ve ever rented from VRBO. It was close to Amicalola Falls and about 30 minutes from Dahlonega. The only thing that we weren’t aware of was 2 of the bedrooms were only connected by a folding closet door. BUT, it is still a 5 star to us!

Beautiful

The property is beautiful! It’s has an amazing view. The house was very clean and smelled nice. They had lots of appliances to use if needed. It felt like home! Very spacious. We rented it for 2 nights and 3 days. We got married Saturday and this was the cabin I chose for the girls. We were all able to get ready and still have space! 10 out of 10. Will rent again!

Spectacular sunrise and starry night from the back deck!

This is a beautiful home with a spacious master suite and nice kitchen/living area below. It has lots of deck space with great views of the stars, the sunrise, and the rolling ridges below. Peaceful and quiet...secluded yet too not far from the highway and area attractions. We hope to book again next fall...if not sooner!

We really enjoyed the peace we found at this place. Quiet, no people, no traffic, beautiful views, and a nice place. Short drive to the Falls, Dahlonega and Big Canoe. Nice.
