About this property
2 mi. to Lakewood; quiet, wooded 11 acre property. Room for trailer turn-around
Up North at its very best here, just 2 miles from Lakewood. This small town offers groceries, hardware, sporting goods, coffee shop, ice cream stand and of course, Sweet Memories Candy Shop, as well as casual dining options- many more within a few miles every direction.
We are a retired couple who travel A LOT and rent out when we're away so the house is totally turn-key ready, meaning all bedding, lots of towels, soaps for everything from dishes to laundry and the kitchen is very well equipped for any and all cooking including Instant Pots, air fryers, crock pots, blender, waffle iron, fry baby, etc. Dish TV and good WiFi.
Outside you can enjoy the fire pit with its unlimited supply of firewood, walking trails throughout our 11 acres of woods, the gazebo where you can escape bugs or rain yet still be very much outside as it's almost entirely windows. A very short walk across the road and you'll be in the National Forest where you can enjoy the cross country ski trails, snowmobile trails, or a very nice hike or snowshoe on the Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock Habitat Management trail. A propane grill in the backyard gives you the option for outdoor cooking.
If you're pulling a trailer for ATVs or snowmobiles the driveway is designed for easy backing and turning around. The snowmobile trail crosses over the end of our long driveway at the road and the Old 32 parking lot for cross country skiing is about 1/2 mile down the road. Also, Paul Bunyan ski hill recently re-opened and is 3-4 miles by car. Note this is a beginners type hill; nice for kids and beginners but no real challenging runs.
Ours is just a homey, friendly place to spend time indoors or out and you'll find so many lakes for fishing, 2 nice beaches (Wheeler Lake and Bass Lake) for swimming and countless bars and eating places within about a 10 mile radius.
We are almost always able to work with you on early check-in or later check-out because we like to leave a day between rentals to give more flexibility.
Other than the weather we can pretty much guarantee a wonderful time here!!
