About this property

Hoopers Island Victorian with 360 Water Views - experienced host

New to VRBO so no reviews but... a quick google will show you 5* reviews raving about the place. This one pretty much sums it up:

“Gorgeous house and an A plus host! If you’re looking for a quiet, laidback getaway, this is your spot. Stunning views and we loved the screened in porch.”

THE DRIVE
Cross a stunning causeway and you're smack dab in the middle of an island that measures 1/3 of a mile across. Chesapeake Bay to the west, Honga River to the east. Tidal marsh to the north, marina to the south.

THE HOUSE
A spacious Victorian that comfortably sleeps eight, filled with historic details, high ceilings and original hardwood floors. Windows everywhere, all designed to bring in natural light and bay breezes. You're surrounded by water and can see it from every room in the house.

FIRST FLOOR
You'll enter the house through a newly renovated front porch with rocking chairs, flower pots & a slamming screen door. Once inside, you'll find a spacious foyer, half bath, and fully-stocked kitchen featuring exposed beams and a large picture window that frames a view of the resident osprey family’s nest. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with a second fridge, washer and dryer.

The large dining room contains a six-seat table and mini library. The living room features a bay window, a very out-of-tune piano & a gas stove (just for looking). French doors lead you to what will become your favorite room in the house--a screen porch with two hammock chairs, twinkly lights and a table large enough for a crab feast or game of gin rummy.

SECOND FLOOR
A graceful staircase leads you to a master bedroom with an antique queen-size 4-poster bed and a cozy sitting area - the perfect spot to watch a Chesapeake Bay sunset. The groovy bedroom has a fun 70s vibe and sleeps 3 (1 queen bed & 1 twin). The green bedroom sleeps another another 3 (2 full beds & 1 twin). The full bathroom contains a shower/tub combo. I provide all bed linens and bath towels.

OUTSIDE
Check out the new back deck and outdoor shower-with changing room and twinkly lights!! (Pictures coming soon.) The 1.4 acre property is large enough to host bocce ball games, croquet tournaments and a late evening fire pit--I provide all 3. I also provide a small charcoal grill, 3 fishing poles, 2 crab nets and 3 beach bikes.

COMFORTS OF HOME
You'll find all of the modern conveniences--air conditioning, high speed wifi, second refrigerator, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. I also provide a smart TV for streaming, DVD player & wide selection of DVDs, books and board games.

THE ISLAND
Everything that makes the Eastern Shore unique—the Bay, windswept marshes, seafood, its deeply-rooted history—in a magical place where time slows down so you can catch up. The ideal spot for nature lovers & those seeking peace, quiet & time to bond with the people they love.

While I’m new to VRBO (2025), I’m not new to hosting. Google around to find my 5/5* reviews. They’ll give you a pretty good idea why the place is so special.

Who am I? Writer, fledgling artist, renovator, sunset lover, cemetery prospector, island gadabout. Navy baby brat who grew up in Baltimore County. BA from Loyola University of Maryland. Former PR Executive. Same as everyone, I contain multitudes lol.

Why they chose this property

A huge body of water, gorgeous sunsets, a beautiful old house and I’m in heaven. Add in a resident family of ospreys and the nearest fast food restaurant is 45 minutes away? I called a real estate agent. I hope you love it here as much as I do.

What makes this property unique

A gorgeous location, a bit remote and a big house to yourselves - the perfect setting to reconnect and spend time with the people you love. Screen porch crab feasts, kayak adventures, hammock siestas, bike rides to the jetty and seaglass beach, firepits, long outdoor showers, charter fishing expeditions, epic stargazing, marathon games of gin rummy, and day trips to the beach, St. Michael’s, Oxford or Easton. Do it all or swing in the hammock. You’re in charge.
