About this property

Hill Country Pearl-A Charming Lake Cottage Created for Reconnection

The Hill Country Pearl is designed with restoration and reconnection in mind. No grit, no pearl. Similarly, our most precious relationships experience irritants, and we must be intentional about prioritizing those we love and value most.

This quaint 2-bedroom cottage was originally an old church moved from South Congress in downtown Austin to this tranquil hill country hideaway. The cottage features 1 queen bed, 1 twin over full bunk bed, 1 twin trundle bed, and 1 futon. With 5 beds, this home comfortably sleep 6. Please note, as seen in pictures, we kept the original structure of the beams, so the bedroom walls are not fully enclosed. All linens and towels are provided as well as basic spices, k-cups, and basic toiletries. There is a full-size washer and dryer, iron and board, propane grill, picnic table, firepit, Bluetooth speakers, and plenty of board games for your entertainment. The lake is too low for a boat, but the lake bottom now serves as a beautiful hiking or running trail. Finally, enjoy a fun dance party or a slow, intimate dance with the fully functioning disco ball.

Celebrating a special occasion? With enough notice, I can prepare the house with balloons, flowers, champagne, etc (within reason) prior to your arrival. We can arrange logistics and payment once your stay is confirmed.

There are 2 cottages on the property. You will enter at the gate and head past the first blue cottage down to the Pearl. It's the white cottage on the lake at the bottom of the driveway.

Best getaway from the city

I felt like a new person after staying here from the hustle and bustle. The cottage was a dream, and the area was so peaceful and quiet. The owner communicated effectively.

TaraLane is blessed to share her home with couples and families and hopes your time at the Pearl reminds you of what really matters most...your relationships. In our hectic lives, we often lose sight of the things we once found so endearing about the ones we love. We forget to be mindful, present, patient, loving, kind, faithful, and gentle. My hope is that you leave feeling restored, refreshed, and reconnected.

Why they chose this property

The Pearl is on the dead end of a dead end of a dead end, so it's extremely secluded while being incredibly close to all the creature comforts of Cedar Park, Leander, and Austin. It sits on the lake, in the heart of the hills, on a sleepy cove of Lake Travis. Even with the cove currently dried up, I love walking the lake bottom and equally love walking the peaceful hill country streets. On a weekend evening, you can sit fireside or chill on the hammock and can sometimes hear live music from The Lucky Rabbit. It's truly a hidden little gem.

What makes this property unique

My hope is that you find what you lost or discover something new in and with those you love.
