About this property

The Sandcastle is the perfect way to spend your vacation with family or friends.

Our home was created for large and small groups alike. Upstairs, we have five large bedrooms, all with private baths and their own TV. We also have a separate living space on the ground floor (accessed from the outside) with another bedroom/bathroom with two double beds, a large game room with two queen-size sleeper sofas, large HD Flat Screen TV, Foosball, a card table, games, a locker room style bathroom/shower and a ping pong table.

We are one of the few screened-in porches on the island and you will fall instantly in love with rocking in the chairs while taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean that have made Holden Beach one of the most popular family beaches around.

We know how much we love having our furry friends with us on our vacation so we want you to have yours, too. Our home is pet-friendly and they love lounging around on the back porch, too. For larger families or groups, consider renting our additional oceanfront property 'Tern Inn' (VRBO # 443639) next door.

We have stocked our home to help you forget about the busy life and fall in love with kicking off your shoes and getting back in touch with fun and relaxation. We have four beach cruiser bikes for you to explore the island. Boogie boards and sand toys are here for the kids (ok, the adults too) and we even have a library of family friendly DVDs for the movie watchers. We love our beach house and we think you will too.

The SandCastle in February

We escaped the New England winter for 9 days in Feb. '25. The SandCastle is very warm and cozy. Temps were in the 40's, mostly 50's & 60's with teases of 70's - the perfect antidote we were looking for.In the winter, Holden beach is delightful, 6 people on the beach instead of 6,000. Better shelling b/c there is less competition. More wildlife, dolphins, bald eagle as well.SandCastle was great. Spacious, relaxing, we spent a lot of time out on the deck. Debbie was very communicative. Try an off-season trip. You'll love it!

Beach thanksgiving.

My family enjoys having thanksgiving together at the beach with our walks on the beach and looking for that special sea shell. It is our time to play games and enjoy being together as a family. This year was very sad my wife passed away in October and it was great to enjoy the time with my girls remembering how much she loved the beach.

Impromtu Getaway

It was a great place for us to stay along with our dog. The house was well stocked, comfortable, and quiet. We had one issue which the host took care of right away. We will definetly be going back. Loved it!

We all love this property!!! It fits everybody in our family including the dog. The only reason I deducted a star for cleanliness was there were quite a few very large roaches in the screened in patio and the front patio at night. Could not go out there most nights. And the morning we left there was a large roach in my bathroom and in the kitchen. I understand they are prevalent down south but we saw none when we stayed last year. Still we love your home!!! Wish we could stay next year but you were booked.

Family Christmas Vacation

This property is very spacious and was well stocked with everything we needed. It was so relaxing to see the ocean every morning, throughout the day, and in the evening. And being able to bring our fur baby made it even more homey. We also enjoyed the gameroom downstairs for some fun and family competitions. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect house for large family! Great amenities!

We loved the property and location! It was a perfect choice for our large family. The downstairs was a great place for the teenagers to hang out! The kitchen has everything you need as far as small appliances, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc. It lacked nothing! It was by far the most well stocked kitchen of any home we have ever rented. The host was very informative and wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!

Sandcastle FUN!

We had an amazing time at Holden Beach staying at “Sandcastle”.Lots of space to spread out and right on the ocean. Loved the screened porch. Looking forward to our next trip to the coast!

Heavenly Home on Holden Beach

We had a wonderful stay - the screened-in back porch was amazing, and that is where we all spent most of our time when we weren’t out on the beach. The home is lovely with more than enough space for all of us and a little something for everyone in our family from retirees to teenagers and a couple in between. Each bedroom has its own en suite and the downstairs “bonus” rooms were perfect when my teenage daughter wanted some space of her own to play video games and feel like she had a cool hangout. Well equipped with beach gear was a wonderful bonus! Can’t wait to come back next week!

Exceptional Choice

The Sandcastle was well suited for large families and their pets. We found it clean, practical, decorated beautifully, and with privacy for all within the group. I can’t say enough about the screen porch facing the ocean! After we went out to explore, coming back to relax there was the absolute best experience! The house was well equipped with everything you need or want to enjoy your stay. You won’t be disappointed. The high reviews are accurate. Thank you Debbie and family for renting your amazing beach retreat. We hope to return someday and gather around the unique round table again!

Sandcastle Was Perfect

The rental was exactly as pictured and Debbie was a great host. Kitchen had every appliance you would need. Only 2 of us and we didn’t use lower level but it would be perfect for a larger family. The only thing we felt missing was to have some comfortable chairs on the front/back decks. There is an unobstructed view of marsh in front and the sun was beautiful along with ocean views in back. There are some beach chairs downstairs but nothing us retired folks could easily sit in.

Perfect Beach Getaway!

This beach property was absolutely wonderful. The attention to details was something that we don't often see in our travels. Beautiful, huge rooms. Bedrooms all have private bathrooms, ceiling fans, big screen tvs, clothes hampers, exit sliding glass doors, etc. The spacious kitchen was well stocked with every cooking pan and utensil you would need. , The living room has a huge Smart TV, ceiling fan, comfy seating, clock. The screened in deck connects us to the ocean and beach. That's where we spent a lot of our week. The ping pong table downstairs was a bonus too. Overall, this was one of our very favorite places to stay.

Always enjoy

We look forward to our every two year Christmas beach get-away at Sand Castle. Our family have grown over the years to include grandchildren and this year was really special to be with them all. There is lots of space; love that we all get our own bathroom; plenty of seating for everyone and the kitchen is well equipped - plenty of dishes for baking , cooking eating off etc. Debbie is very easy to work with and we especially love her because she allows us to have all our dogs! Each fam wants to bring their beloved pooch. We look forward to more christmases in Sandcastle, with the beach right outside the door. Lovely sunrises/sunsets; long beach walks looking for treasures.

Accommodation is the best description!

We stayed for Thanksgiving dinner week with my family and my sisters family and did not want for anything! Pots, pans, bowls, crockpot, coffee pot, Keurig, you name it was available!! The dining table was our most fave place to be from playing card games to eating. We spent the majority of our time on the back porch and the ocean was perfect! No need for shoes- we walked right into the sand and out to the beach. There were some concerns, but once we addressed them with the owner, they were quickly addressed so that the visit went off without a hitch! Everyone pretty much had a personal bathroom and privacy was perfect. We can’t wait to do this again!

Caught fish every day.

Manageable stairs. Short walk to the ocean. Each bedroom had it’s own bathroom. Kitchen well stocked with everything needed to cook meals, and then some. Lack of street parting meant the beaches were empty. Was able to fly my kites.

The Kinsey family has been coming to Holden for years. They tent camped in the 50's and were hooked. Now their kids are all grown with children of their own and they are blessed to be able to enjoy their home with four generations!
