About this property
Homestead Away from Home
Welcome to your enchanting Homestead Away from Home! Situated for the ideal getaway, this expansive home sits on ¾ acres of land. While taking in the wooded views from the patio, bathing in the sound of water gently flowing from the fountain or to the cackle of the hens as they go about their day, you will quickly forget that you are only 15 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
This accommodation is perfect for:
- Groups and families
- Anyone looking for a peaceful place to recharge
- Those in search of a serene remote work location
- People looking to ground themselves in nature while remaining within walking distance of dining and grocery options
- Cooking enthusiasts seeking a rental with a well-furnished kitchen that would allow them to “chef it up” while traveling
- Pole enthusiasts
- Those seeking proximity to organic farms with CSA or pick-your-own programs
The space
A beautifully maintained folk Victorian home, originally built in the late 1800s and added onto by various owners over the years. Encased by an array of hedges, bushes, trees, and native plants, the property is grounded in a tranquil ambience, which immediately draws guests in upon arrival.
Since this unique property serves as our primary home, it is furnished with comfort and functionality at the forefront, while not sacrificing on design. This is epitomized by the first rooms to greet you when you step into the home, flanked by walls of forest green meant to invite the outdoors indoors. Together, every room works in tandem to reflect the property’s themes; nature, peace, and tranquility.
All bedrooms are curated for optimal relaxation and with sleep in mind, so there are no televisions in any of them.
Guest access
While the property does serve as our primary home, guests will have exclusive access to the entire premises during their stay, ensuring a completely private retreat. There are a couple of restricted Owners closets used for storage and someone will need to access an isolated part of the property at some point to tend to the chickens. Guests will be informed before this happens.
Other things to note
The property is located near train tracks. We have never had an issue with the noise, particularly at night, nor have any guests that have stayed overnight at the house.
