Everything you need is within a 30-45 minute drive. Multiple shopping districts and excellent food options, and a new state-of-the-art Movie Theater, or if you want to stretch your legs a bit the Chattanooga area with all of its attractions are about 1.5 hours away, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area only 2.5 hours away. Cades Cove about 1.5 hours drive, the casinos in Cherokee, NC 1.5 hours. Closer to home take the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, ranked the 4th-best railway to enjoy the fall colors according to Country Living Magazine.

DOGS: Dogs are WELCOME! We love our fur babies, but this property allows a maximum of two dogs and the fee is $75 per stay. Please, clean paws only in the house and keep dogs off furniture. If you would like to snuggle with your dog on the couch, please bring a blanket to lay on the furniture. The pet policy is strictly enforced and an additional cleaning fee may be applied for excessive shedding.

DRIVING: Last 0.5 miles of road to cabin is unpaved and bumpy at times, very low riding vehicles are NOT recommended, 4 wheel drive preferred, 2 wheel front drive ok, large oversized vehicles are NOT a good idea.

STAIRS: The ladder style staircase is a fun “camping” experience but may not be suitable for everyone. Not ADA compliant, caution is required when using them. Sleeper sofa is available to sleep on downstairs.

CELL SERVICE: You will lose cell service approximately 15 minutes away from the cabin (based on carrier) with some random spots along the way. You can log into WiFi once in the cabins and enable WiFi calling and send/receive text messages and emails. Highly recommend printing driving directions to and from the cabin.

LOFTED BEDROOM: There are no walls or doors that separate the lofted sleeping area from the living space on the main floor. This cabin would not be suitable for guests who would like privacy in sleeping quarters. Would be ideal for a small family with kids older than 5 years old.

The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Vandergriff Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 10-15 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

12/10 Stars!

My boyfriend and I booked the Little Dipper cabin for 4 days for our 1 year anniversary. Krista was the best host I have ever had (ever), and somehow went //ABOVE// above and beyond for our stay. I needed to have my winter clothes shipped to the cabin for our trip since they wouldn’t arrive to my house in time and Krista did everything in her power to make sure I got them! I was stressing for the week leading up the trip, and I was able to enjoy our trip (and be warm during it!) all because of her. I am eternally grateful for her help! Her FAQ and guidebooks were the most detailed pieces of info that answered all our questions before and during our trip. The step by step GPS instructions were also very detailed and precise which I absolutely loved!! Made navigating there and getting settled in the cabin SO easy! The cabin is a reasonable driving distance from the besttttt cidery and fruit market (Reece’s Cider Comp.) Location is so ideal, Im anxiously counting the days until next Fall where we can visit again during apple picking season. The view was amazing and waking up to those windows each morning felt like waking up in a movie. The cabin had mostly everything we could possibly think of and we only needed to grab food, more trash bags, and marshmallow skewers from the “local” store. The only issues we encountered: a couple of the furniture pieces were super dusty and triggered my allergies so I had to clean a few things the 2nd night. And the last two days the bathroom and under the kitchen sink developed a super strong smell that was bothersome. Mildew maybe? But, Krista suggested we open the windows in the bathroom to air out the place and it did the trick! The complete silence and privacy the cabin offered was so perfect for us to literally *escape* and fully enjoy our celebration. I can’t speak enough praises about Krista, thank you so much for making our trip so special!!

Great Weekend Getaway

We loved the decor, location, & dog friendly details of this cabin. The outdoor area was wonderful. We really enjoyed our time outside. Krista provided great customer service. However, I wish the bed had a fitted sheet (the flat sheet kept coming off the mattress) & a nicer shower head. The mildew smell in the bathroom & under the kitchen cabinets were hard to ignore. But other than those small things, our stay was absolutely wonderful.

Fabulous stay in a Dreamy Cabin

We chose to spend our Christmas in this cabin, and we loved it! The evergreens and trees that surround the cabin are truly magical. Inside, the space is small, but cozy and functional. The owner of this cabin is very organized.—good signage and instructions throughout. We really enjoyed the king-sized bed (quality sheets and mattress) as well as all the oversized windows that look out on the forest. And if you're looking for privacy/seclusion, this place is ideal. We've rented lots of cabins in north Georgia and the roads leading to them can sometimes be a nightmare. Not here! Mostly paved til the last couple miles and then it's a quality gravel that even a small car could handle. The internet in this cabin was fast and reliable (tested it at 150mbps ). Live TV comes via satellite dish and it worked great as well. The only thing we couldn't figure out was how to access streaming apps (instructions for that may have been in the manual and we just didn't see it). All in all, a wonderful rental experience that is highly recommended!

Over The Moon

This was the perfect cabin getaway! Everything from the drive up to the details of the cabin are beautiful! You can feel nature embrace you and there is an abundance of peace and quiet at this little slice of heaven in the woods. We appreciated the privateness, cleanliness and all of the extras that came with this stay. So much energy, time and love was put into this home and you can feel it the moment you step inside. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet, serene and relaxing get away in nature! Looking forward to booking here again in the future.
