This home provides amazing views on the outside and amazing comfort on the inside. This is our second time to stay in this home and we will definitely stay there again!
Our stay was absolutely amazing. The communication with the owner about items was great. Everything we needed was there. We did buy a mixer and left it for the next occupants to enjoy. Have to say the views are awesome and sunsets were great even this time of the year. Would love to hang here in the Summer as well. We would definitely recommend this place to others.
Happy Thanksgiving
Nice home, looks like the pictures online. Could use a deep cleaning but overall great house, my family had a terrific time and we would stay there again.
This home was exactly what we needed for our family Thanksgiving staycation. The lake view was absolutely breathtaking during sunrise and sunset. Home is as advertised, perfect for a big group of all ages

Weekend reunion of old friends, the space worked out great. Plenty of room to hang out and mingle. Lots of beds and bathrooms. Great view of the lake. We visited in a colder month and it was cozy, but would love to take advantage of the lakeside deck sometime in the summer.
Our family enjoyed our stay. Jim was very responsive when we needed him. Love that each bedroom has it’s own bath. Great view of the lake.
You do hear the main road but we worked around that.
This house has it all! Amazing water views from almost every room. The first floor offers an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen with a wall of windows that make you feel like are on the water. The spacious bedrooms all offer private bathrooms making this house an incredible find for large groups, but it is still cozy enough for just two. The host has been extremely responsive to all of my requests and in my estimation has earned the title of super+ host. I highly recommend this water view getaway for a long weekend or an extended stay. We are already thinking about planning our return trip!
This house was very clean, Jim was very responsive to all communications. The view is amazing and very spaceous. Only drawback is the road noise, It is close to the highway with no sound barriers. Overall the house was great and we would book it again.
The house was perfect for our number of guests and spacious, kitchen items provided were plentiful, and bathrooms were well furnished. The lake setting is beautiful. I was disappointed in the lack of cleanliness inside and out, (cobwebs, dead bugs) and we were unable to grill (wouldn’t ignite) or use the fireplace.

Celebrating my wife’s 50th
The house was beautiful! Plenty of rooms, beds and bathrooms. Loved the open concept between kitchen, dining room, living room. We were able to feel as if we were always with each other. House probably could have been cleaner both inside and out and when they say it is right on a busy road, they mean it’s right on a busy road. We loved our time together there.
Pros: Great location. Right on the water so you can fish right off the dock (caught quite a few), pull a boat up, or just enjoy the sunset. Plenty of space and enough beds for the 16 of us (13 adults and 3 children). Each bedroom having an on suite was very helpful. Plenty of on site parking, spacious kitchen, and massive deck are other pluses. Also, the communication with Jim was fantastic.
Cons: House is a little beat up (cosmetic things) but that’s to be expected with a house intended for large gatherings. Didn’t receive check in info until we pulled up to the house. Once we had check in info, the process was a breeze. This is not a knock on the home or host, but beware of mayfly season. They swarm at night and are all over the windows. Didn’t impede our stay, just something to be aware of.
Overall this is a great place for large gatherings. Would recommend to others and stay here again.
This is our 2nd year renting this home for our annual family reunion. While all of the 10 of us hail from MI only a few still live there. We travel from distances as far as Montana to converge for a weekend together. This home suits our needs. Private areas as well as a well appointed kitchen for family meals. We cooked a full on Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen easily. We don't often get together for Thanksgiving. The host was so gracious having a handrail installed down the back patio steps this past year. It made a huge difference for 60+ crowd!!! Yes, there is traffic noise but the views of the bay are wonderful! Swimming is not recommended unless you enjoy a challenge entering and exiting the water. The house is aging but gracefully, could use a few updates and a good cleaning but overall a terrific time was had by all. Will likely return next year.
Outside needs maintenance and deck furniture needed attention as far as cobwebs. Oven and stove didn't work. Ceiling fan in 1 bedroom was full go and couldn't turn off or regulate. Dining room light missing some bulbs. Great kitchen, well stocked.

Short getaway with friends
We stayed at this property with a group of four families. The home has nice space with lovely views, and we appreciated that each bedroom has its own en suite. As other reviewers have noted, the home desperately needs a thorough clean. I was surprised to see that, having already received reviews indicating cleanliness as an issue, that this wouldn’t have been addressed already by the host. The floors genuinely appeared to have not been vacuumed in a long time. There’s a pile of crumbs and junk along cabinet bases, etc. Our bathroom had visible hair as well as a loose prescription pill on the floor. Another family had dirty tissues under their bed. Another bed room had an open bag of chips in it. The bedding was not particularly clean. Our pillowcases were stained and the comforter had dirt on it. The bed pillows themselves were pretty filthy— they need to be washed or replaced. There’s also a real accumulation of junk from previous visitors that should be discarded. The host didn’t provide any check-in info until minutes before our 4pm check-in, which made communicating with a big group inconvenient. Most at least provide basic info earlier even if they withhold the door code to prevent early arrivals. The home is also situated very close to a fast, busy highway. The road noise is noticeable, if you’re a noise-sensitive sleeper. I don’t normally leave critical feedback of a home, giving the benefit of the doubt to the host. But these issues appear to be recurrent.

Beautiful window views
Loved the wide open living space and the 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms! Did not have enough dish towels, paper towel or oven mitts. Really need an umbrella for the deck as it has no shade for really hot days. Deck is super hot to walk on. Mayflies caused us to be inside in the evenings on beautiful nights . Bummer
We booked this home for our annual family reunion. We lost one of our brothers unexpectedly and this reunion ended up as more of a tribute to him as he loved the water. The views were stunning. The kitchen (the center of any of our reunions) was perfect. The private baths that accompany each bedroom were a plus. Yes, this is off of a busy street but the views of the Bay far outweighed any traffic noise. Shaded area of deck was nice in the heat of the day. The firepit was terrific in the evenings. Bugs were not a huge issue, a little spray and they didn't bother us. The owner was responsive and very helpful. The only suggestion we might make is to put a railing going down the deck/ patio steps. We had several "older" people and it was a bit of a challenge to navigate up and down the steps. Would definitely recommend. We had a wonderful time.
We stayed in early May. Overall, we enjoyed the property and loved the layout and space. There was more than enough room for all of us, and it was great that all of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms. The kitchen was great (except there was no foil, plastic wrap, storage bags). And it was nice to have the deck. We were, however, disappointed that the grill and outdoor fire pit were both not working. Before arriving we had asked about the grill and were told that we had to buy propane. We did pick up a propane tank only to find out that the grill was not working. We tried to use the propane tank for the outdoor fire pit but that wasn't working either. The owner refunded us for the propane. Also, the blankets were all thrown on the closet floors (some of which were not that clean). And there were a few other items that were in need of repair. We knew from prior reviews about the highway noise, which was ok except for the bedroom that fronts the highway; in that bedroom it was very loud when trying to sleep. Again, it's a great property and we enjoyed ourselves overall. Hopefully the issues are addressed for future guests.

Property has potential but not as listed
We enjoyed the layout of this house and the view on the lake is gorgeous. It was a luxury to have en suite bathrooms for each bedroom. The sliders along the back of the house were beautiful and the living space accommodated our group well. We found some nice golf courses and restaurants to enjoy in the area. To be completely honest, this house is very far from newly built and has been roughly used. It is in dire need of some TLC, maintenance repairs and deep cleaning, both inside and out. It would be great if there were screens on the sliders facing the lake and screens in good repair on the bedroom windows. We wished we could have used the gas fire pit on the deck; however, the tanks were empty and we didn’t feel we should have to fill them, as the house instructions suggested. We did find the traffic to be very loud as well, although we’d read that in previous reviews, so were aware. It should be noted this house is right on a very busy highway. I wouldn’t likely stay here again, as is.
We drove from Niagara Falls and my brothers family came from Kalamazoo. We spent Wednesday and Thanksgiving together and had a great time. The house was beautiful and had all the amenities you would need . The owner was great with communication and was there if needed. Plenty of room for 8 adults and the rooms are awesome each with their own full bathroom.. The only bad thing was a little traffic noise due to the location ona busy road. Otherwise the home was great. I would highly recommend staying at this house. Thank you again Jim for allowing us to stay at your home.
