About this property
Black sand beachfront cabin with private hot tub
Welcome to our family-run Saga Cabins, perched on a secluded peninsula surrounded by the ocean. Our cabins offer stunning views of Snæfellsnes glacier, Eldborg crater, and private black sand beaches, as well as private hot tubs - perfect for stargazing and experiencing the Northern Lights.
Ideal for travelers seeking peace and adventure, our cozy cabins offer a balance of remote tranquility and easy access to all major Snæfellsnes attractions.
This cabin is ideal for a couple or two friends seeking a comfortable and scenic retreat.
Featuring an open floor plan, the cabin combines the kitchenette, living, and sleeping areas. The beds can be arranged as a double for couples or separated for individual sleeping. The kitchenette includes utensils, dishware, a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a hot plate, and cookware for preparing meals.
The cabin also offers a private bathroom with a shower and a separate foyer for convenient storage of luggage, coats, and shoes. On the patio is a spacious private hot tub.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding area, which features black sand beaches encircling the peninsula. During high tide, the beach transitions to a golden hue and reaches the surrounding islands.
This part of Snæfellsnes is full of rich history. Scattered around the property are ancient grass covered cairns, which were used by Vikings to navigate to different parts of Snæfellsnes. The surrounding islands used to be inhabited by people who walked to the mainland when the tide was out. It also features an ancient horse riding path, which wraps around the edge of the peninsula and is still used today.
Other things to note
For local recommendations on activities and sightseeing in the area, please refer to our Guidebook.
There are three cabins on the property, situated side by side.
During winter, road conditions in Iceland can be unpredictable and hazardous. If there has been heavy snowfall overnight, roads may require plowing before departure. Please note that we do not take responsibility for any delays this may cause in guests' travel plans.
We highly recommend allowing extra travel time between destinations, especially if you are unfamiliar with driving in extreme weather. Road closures due to accidents or heavy snowfall are common, and we are not responsible for the schedules of local snowplows. For a safer winter driving experience, we strongly advise renting a four-wheel-drive vehicle with studded tires.
We share our property with two friendly dogs—a Boxer named Rósi and a Miniature Pinscher named Saga. They remain leashed when guests are present, and we will only let them off-leash if you are comfortable with it.
