The Depot is an amazing quaint and charming gem in the heart of Amherst. The property is newly renovated and very clean and peaceful. The owner is very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. If you need to stay in Amherst this is the place to stay! Every little detail from the furnishing to the surroundings is excellent. Would highly recommend!
This is a new listing and fully renovated home, so it is rare to find a rental so clean and in top condition. Everything inside, including furniture and appliances, appears to be all new and high quality. It's a beautiful place inside with some luxury touches. The outside surroundings are not so beautiful though, since there's not a lot of yard and there's some kind of non-residential building on the same lot, but it didn't bother me.Now I must warn there are train tracks at the edge of the lot behind the property. Trains rolled through periodically, around every 1 to 4 hours, lasting a few minutes each time with a lot of rumbling noise but no horn/whistle at least. It was much louder from the room on the back side of the house than the front. My companion managed to sleep through it in the back-side room, but I doubt I could have as a lighter sleeper. In the front-side room, I heard it before falling asleep, but fortunately I wasn't woken by it.So in the end, we weren't too disturbed by the trains, and I could see a lot of effort was put in to make the place as nice and comfortable as possible.
