Fishing with the Grandkids

Everything about our stay was good or better, The house was clean and roomy, the pictures don't do it justice, the kitchen had everything we needed and the dock was perfect for our boat. Fishing was good and the restaurants around town were even better. The owner could not have been more helpful. We would stay here again anytime!

Wonderfully situated and very private!

My wife and two small children (1 and 3) had a wonderful stay over the 4th of July week in this house on Lake Memphremagog! Everything we needed was there, including a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a huge deck, a huge back lawn, charcoal grille, and the large dock was a great place for my daughter and I to do some fishing. The house itself is set back about 200 meters from the quiet road, so at night, it's super quiet. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Peace and tranquility

We rented this house for a relaxing week with family and that is exactly what we got! The cottage is cozy and as pictured if not better with updates not shown in the pictures. The real gem of this cottage is the outside area: large deck, large well-manicured lawn, large dock and the most spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We fished, played lawn games, swam and the kid's enjoyed making sand castles in the small beach area. The marina is just a short drive down the street to rent a boat and not far past that you can find the quaint town of Newport. Carri was friendly and quickly responded to any questions. We would definitely rent again!

Cozy winter getaway

The house is exactly as described, appliances are in good working order, internet and wifi were reliable (supported 7 devices easily), water heats to a good temperature, and shower pressure is amazing. (Unrelated to the house: if visiting the area in winter, come with at least an AWD car with winter tires.) Carri was very responsive, during the booking process and our stay, providing clear check-in and on-prem logistics instructions. If we go to Jay Peak for a winter vacation again, would look to see if this house is available then :)

Fisherman’s Spot

The house was great with more accommodations that we expected as a group of fishermen we were well pleased with our visit and hope to book it again for our annual fishing trip we do in Vermont every year.

I would buy this place if it were for sale!

My family had a great time at Carri's house. Less than 40 minutes to Jay Peak (and a beautiful ride day or night) and 10-15 minutes to the best breakfast we've had in years (Brenda's Home Cooking on Main St in Newport). The place was as advertised. Basic but clean and cozy. The only challenges were; - Security camera's front and back of house. I didn't feel the privacy one would expect for such a remote location. In fairness, I did not call Carri and ask her to shut them off for our stay, so it's on me. - Spotty wifi. It worked most of the time but dropped in and out. Carri was helpful in getting me access to reboot the router, but this is the service you get up there and not specific to this house. - Some personal effects like a bicycle, mattress leaning up against a wall and generator were left in a common area. They didn't get in our way, but worth mentioning. We would and probably will go back to this spot. Nestled in a beautifully rural area, right on the water with beautiful views everywhere. If you like nature, tranquility and coziness... this is the place for you.

Another Five Star Year For Four Older Guys Going Fishing

Our second year and all is good at this place. The place is as advertised and would recommend it to anyone. Carri is great to deal with and though we have never met seems like a friend. Expect to go back again next year.

Quiet & Secluded

This cottage was set up beautifully for lake activities, both winter and summer. Ideal for ice fisherman and snowmobilers in winter, (we saw 100s during our stay!), and any good old fashioned lake fun in summer. Our family of 6 (including 4 teenagers ages 13-19), booked very last minute for a long ski weekend at Jay Peak. It was a 20 minute drive to the mountain, with lots of places to eat & quaint shops/large stores in the vicinity. The cottage has plenty of sleeping space, and very comfortable mattresses. This is a no frills comfortable cottage. The downstairs living space/bedroom/bathroom were very cold, with no way to heat the space. The home is not set up for a group of folks with alpine ski gear, that was a bit of a struggle, as ski boots, wet ski clothing, helmets etc. for 6 people were difficult to manage in the entry way space. Accommodations were adequate, and easy to keep clean. Washer and dryer were very handy. WiFi was spotty and unreliable periodically, so have a backup plan in the event you require consistent WiFi for work/school. The owner was wonderfully responsive, and very helpful answering questions during our stay. For winter activities on or at the lake, this is an ideal location. Beautiful quiet spot!

Loved it here. Fantastic location, great hosts.

3 month stay as a traveling nurse. This was a perfect place for our stay - myself and husband traveling with me. Everything is here so you don't have to worry about dishes, linens, etc. Gorgeous location right on the lake and an easy quick drive to the hospital and everything in town. Cari, our host, was very amenable to working with me to arrange an appropriate longer-term rate by the month, that worked with my housing allotment. This was such a great spot - it really felt like I was on vacation rather than working. Can't recommend it enough if you are looking for travel housing!

Best Accommodations Ever On Our Fishing Trips

We arrived and found a very nice place and just as advertised. The place was clean and everything was in excellent condition. The one concern or problem we had was with the wifi but as soon as we reported it the owner and the property manager both acted like it was their problem and resolved it almost immediately. The dock was very good and up to date. Communication was excellent from the beginning of the renting process to the end when we texted that we had headed home. We are already talking amongst ourselves about going back next year. The fishing was excellent on Lake Memphremagog and the four of us caught 94 fish. It was all catch and release except for one huge northern pike that will be mounted.

Nice house with easy access to the lake

We had great time staying at Carri's place. The house had everything we were looking for. Checking in/out was easy and Carri was very responsive to my questions. We would definitely consider her place for our annual ice fishing trip next year.

Little Piece of Heaven

My family spent an amazing and relaxing week on this little piece of heaven on the lake. This is a perfect spot for anyone who has a boat, you can dock it right at the house. Short ride to Jay Peak which has a fun indoor water park. Having spent all my summers in this little town it is great to come back with my family and enjoy the countryside and lake with them. The house was clean, comfortable, had all necessary items for cooking. Only downside was the upstairs would get warm during the day, but who wants to be inside when you are on the lake :) I would definitely recommend this home.

Peaceful and serene

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely cottage with us! The cottage is clean and well-appointed with a wonderful view of Lake Memphremagog. The setting in the picturesque countryside of Northern Vermont was the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Hearing the loons from the Lake at night was a true pleasure. We were able to bring our little sailboat and take full advantage of the Lake. It was also great to have the Newport Town Dock and Eastside Restaurant to sail up to! We had some concerns about travelling into Canada, but it turned out to be not trouble at all! Thanks again!

My family and I spent a relaxing week at this beautiful lakefront home. Much of the time was spent fishing, swimming and playing volleyball. We were able to rent a pontoon boat at the local marina and dock the boat right at the house. The weather was perfect, not to hot, not to cold, and the restaurants in town, are very good when you dont feel like cooking or BBQing.. But our favorite nighttime activity was Going to the Pick and shovel for delicious ice cream every night for amazing cones at an amazing price. We plan to return every year and enjoy beauty of Northern Vermont.

This is the place you'll want to stay on your vacation

We have been staying at this cottage for a number of years, however, we were delighted when the new and present owners acquired the property and upgraded the cottage and the dock. The new furniture especially the beds are really comfortable. The addition of the dishwasher and the new dock defintely enhanced our vacation stay. The property is clean and well maintained and the new owners promptly responded to our questions. I would and have highly reccommended this place to friends and relatives. Whether your a fisherman or just want to relax on the water this is a nice private place to do all that and more. It is just a few miles by boat or car to nearby Newport VT where there is plenty of dining and shopping opportunities.
