This comfortable home offers a large, fully equipped kitchen for anyone that loves to cook, a spacious dining area and a large living room. The outdoor space has a beautiful covered front porch surrounded by lots of green grass. The large deck has a propane burning fire pit and gas grill. You will be within 10-15 minutes from all 3 main towns located on Mount Desert Island; Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor. The house was perfect for our family. It was clean, very comfortably furnished and provided all the amenities you could wish for. It was centrally located and easy to access the park as well as all the towns. We were able to bring our dogs which was a huge plus

Awesome!!!

Great location on MDI for all the things we love to do. The market store in town Hill was a great asset with super friendly people there. The home was comfortable and the kitchen setup was absolutely amazing if you love to cook. Highly recommended!

Great place for our Acadia/Bar Harbor stay

Jim and Annette's place was clean and the space was as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked, possibly the best VRBO of any I have stayed in. We loved being able to bring our dog who also enjoyed the yard. The location in regards to BH/Acadia is great. Beds are soft, and it is close to major road causing more traffice noise than anticipated from the photos. Overall I would recommend.

Nice Quiet Home Close to it All

Wonderful home for a family vacation! We loved how quiet this house was but that it was close to Acadia and Bar Harbor without having to deal with the traffic. The house itself had everything we needed and more. We thought it was larger that the pictures showed. We always enjoyed ending our busy days eating dinner on the deck then playing games around the fire. We hope to rent this home again next time we are in town.

Beautiful house that’s great for a family stay!

We loved this house, it was spacious and felt like a home away from home. They have a high chair, and a pack and play (thank goodness because we forgot ours). We did end up going to pick up a baby gate to keep our baby off from the stairs, so I would suggest bringing your own if you have a curious dare devil like us! The kitchen was spacious and had most every tool, pots, and pans that you will need, and a great dining area. Bar Harbor is amazing, and we hope to go again in the future, we would definitely try to stay in this home again. Thank you Annette and Jim for the beautiful home to stay in on our first family vacation!

Great house

The house was bigger than it appears in the pictures. Our family of five had plenty of space and the location was excellent as every trail and the downtown area had multiple ways to go get there.

Family vacation in Maine

Came with our adult children to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We ebiked in Acadia National Park, enjoyed downtown Bar Harbor and ate all things seafood. It was a wonderful time. The home was a wonderful place for us to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Lovely Home

Probably our favorite house we have stayed at on the island. The house itself is gorgeous with a lovely huge porch complete with a super cool fire pit! The house was stocked with everthing you would need and was very clean. The hosts were very responsive and extremely helpful. The location of the house is perfect. It's private but all necessities and of course Acadia are only a short drive away. Plus, our dogs were allowed to stay with us which was amazing. Could not have asked for a better home base for our trip!

2nd Visit

Had such a great experience last year, came back again. Very clean home, has everything you'd need in a rental. Hosts are kind and responsive to inquiries. Close to enjoy all Acadia has to offer but without the craziness of Bar Harbor. Quiet street, great pizza place within walking distance and other great restaurants close-by without that intense-touristy feel.

Lovely house on quiet street off very busy road. Twenty minutes to Bar Harbor, but great takeout nearby. House is big, clean with very soft beds. Nice outdoor deck and porch, big well-stocked kitchen. Communication with owners was minimal.

Great location!

We loved that the location was close enough to Bar Harbor to run into town for food, a few drinks, etc but far enough away to be a quiet retreat. It was a great spot for hiking wherever we were headed on the island. The house was totally equipped and a great spot to relax for our pup too. The master bed was super comfortable, which is so important after a long day of hiking.

Town Hill Home - Perfect

The town hill home was perfect for both jaunts into Bar Harbor for shopping and eating as well as into Acadia for driving, biking and hiking. Crooked Road became a favorite route. The home was great for all. Us old folks stayed on the main level while our daughter and friend stayed upstairs. Elsa the Aussie loved the yard. Kitchen had everything we needed. Will definitely look to stay here again when we return. Thanks to the Dow’s for being perfect hosts.

Perfect house and location

We loved our stay at this house- It was very clean and well stocked!! It was a short walk to the Island Explorer bus stop which made getting to Bar Harbor and other Acadia spots easy!

Very peaceful and comfortable!

I can’t say enough good things about this property! We really didn’t want to leave! The house was clean and spacious with lots of lovely places to hang out like the front porch and the fire pit on the side deck. We cooked a couple meals and the kitchen is definitely well-stocked. The location is very convenient to everywhere we wanted to explore on the island. We would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again!!

We found this rental to be a beautiful, quiet, clean, well-equipped, comfortable house. We enjoyed our stay and would request to stay again. I would offer that a handrail could be added to the top section of the interior flight of stairs.

Perfect getaway home

Perfect spot if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable home close to all points on the island. There’s a playground, market, pizza shop, and ice coffee place within in walking distance. The house is beautiful, well stocked, and has lots of indoor and outdoor space. And Jim’s lobsters are the icing on the cake! We spent a week here, fell in love with Mt Desert Island and are hoping to come back soon! Thanks, Jim and Annette, your home really made our visit special!

Acadia

We had a wonderful time staying here. The location was ideal for exploring Acadia National Park and all the charming towns nearby. The house was extremely tidy and comfortable with lots of attention to detail in terms of what a family traveling might need. We loved being able to cook meals in the well-stocked kitchen, making smores around the fire, and relaxing with games after a long day exploring.
