We spent 3 lovely nights at this property. The house was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub as well as evenings by the fire. Easy and prompt communication with the owner to answer any questions. Would be happy to return in the future!
Great place overlooking the water! It was a lovely house in a quiet setting. We could have sat on the deck all day but we did get out to explore the cute coffee shops and go for walks in the parks!
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The house was extremely well stocked, the location was great and the view was incredible. We sat out in the hot tub every night and looked at the stars. Our favourite thing was watching all of the wildlife right in our back yard. We will be back!
Multi generational family getaway on a perfect weekend. The house had everything we needed and was an easy drive to all our favourite places on the island. The hot tub was a nice addition to other places we’ve stayed.
Peaceful and spacious. The deck is phenomenal. We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was a treat too! Host was prompt with communication and everything went smoothly!
Great view, very well equipped and furnished tastefully. The architecture is superb and the loft is a great addition. Nothing has been forgotten for the guests' comfort.
We had a very enjoyable time staying at this beautiful home. The views are spectator, The house is well appointed and had everything we needed. The island provided us with great hiking, kayaking, views of wild life off the front deck, and lovely weather.
Loved staying here. Great views of the ocean, quiet, close adjacent to Mt Norman trail, and really interesting house design. Also enjoyed each evening in the hot tub! Host was super responsive and friendly. Thanks Mike!
This was by far one of the most well stocked rentals I have ever stayed at. Mike was awesome… there was an issue worth the hot tub and he sorted it out within a day. Great place to stay… I highly recommend it!
Very well situated to enjoy all that Pender has to offer; quiet, green, ocean view, trails. The house is well appointed and maintained- very comfortable,
Such a beautiful house, wood beams and floors. 3 bedrooms. Very well stocked kitchen, hot tub was hot. Wood stove well stocked with dry wood. Lots of hooks everywhere for coats, clothes, towels and more. East communication with owner.
A very comfortable and enjoyable home!!!
This was a wonderful spot with all the amenities. The view from the deck is spectacular, and the property had no neighbours. We drove to get to places to kayak and bike. For spectacular hiking, we walked out the back door and hiked up Mount Norman. There is construction which closes the road to south Pender (beyond our driveway) from 10 am to 2pm. As it turned out, this was not really a big deal at all. This did not impede our ability to go to North Pender, and we did go to the end of South Pender once to see Brooks Point. The host is easily available and very responsive. We would love to return to this place!

Beautiful House, Magnificent View
Perfect spot for a romantic getaway or a more social vacation. The house has an ideal location in a quiet part of the island, but close enough to all amenities. The kitchen is fully set up with more appliances than we expected, and it was new, clean, and beautifully appointed. Dealing with Mike was great; he responds quickly to any questions and made the entire process easy. We'll be back.

Family with 2 teenagers
We were very pleased with the accommodations: it looked exactly like the photos that were posted. The house was clean, organized, and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub and the wood stove in the evenings. The books, games, and movies were a nice touch. The view was spectacular and the location very private and peaceful. The owner was very helpful while we were planning our trip. We enjoyed many hikes and kayaking. We enjoyed eating at the Hope Cafe and the Sushi restaurant. We would recommend this property to other people.
We are a family of 6 with kids between the ages of 4-12. There was something for everyone! We enjoyed slow mornings with hot coffee and a warm fire while the kids played in the yard and enjoyed the well-stocked games cupboard.
The property is private and quiet with beautiful views. We enjoyed many hikes and beach visits all around the island. We are from the snowy north and this was a beautiful spring reprieve! Although not ocean front, it was a bit of a benefit as we didn't have to worry about young kids around the water and we found it was much cooler temps along the beaches. Perched up a little higher, the yard was calm, not windy and warm!
The home is very tidy and clean and has every item you could wish for. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus and we often started and ended the day with a soak. If we find ourselves on Pender Island again, we will certainly hope to stay at Mike's property!

Beautiful and relaxing vacation home
Our family of two adults and two children 8 &10 had a great time in this beautiful setting. The hot tub was great and we all loved going in there at night. The view from all the windows are beautiful and we loved sitting on the deck watching the ships sail by. The house is quite spacious and the kids liked sleeping in the loft. We enjoyed a complete Thanksgiving meal while there, and the weather worked out for us. The grocery store and bakery had everything we needed and enjoyed a latte while we browsed the shops. We hiked the "Enchanted Forest Trail", our kids favourite, and many more trails and beaches. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine outside the Winery while the kids explored the area. We enjoyed some meals out but mainly ate at the house. Poets Cove was a gem to find with kayak rentals and a public pool for summer time. We had everything we needed and the owner Mike was always available and accommodating when we called with questions while we were there. We would love to come back and check out the golf course, pool and more art studios.
This was the second visit we've made to this wonderful property.
Messages to Mike always are answered promptly. When he was leaving for an international trip, he sent us contact information for a neighbor.
This year the installation of the backup generator was complete. There was a day with high winds during our visit. The power stayed on, but Mike sent simple instructions in advance of the storm about the generator's operation.
The kitchen is well stocked. As tea and pour-over coffee fans, we were happy to see the electric kettle and Melitta drip-cone and filters.
The wood stove kept us warm at night. Plenty of split wood is available.
The Internet speed will not support streaming, but our HDMI to USB-C adapter allowed us to watch content we had downloaded on an iPad. Cable TV and a large selection of CDs are available.
The large windows along the great room frame a good view of Plumper Sound. There is a long covered deck with seating. Binoculars are provided, along with games, puzzles, books, and pamphlets about the island.
One of the trailheads to climb Pender's highest point, Mt. Norman, is literally next door to the property. We also enjoyed hiking the Enchanted Forest Park trail and the Brooks and Gowlland Points area while picking wild blackberries along the boardwalk.
The house needed a bit more dusting and the refrigerator required a wipe down.
You will enjoy a stay at this house in South Pender Island!
Had a lovely time at this house with my partner and another couple. Well equiped kitchen allowed us to cook great meals. Wood fire stove and hot tub were well used and much enjoyed. Plus, the Pender Islands were beautiful and fun to explore for a few days.
Lovely home with a spectacular ocean view tucked away in the trees.
So quiet, so private, comfortable and well stocked with basics. Loved the wood stove and the sound of raindrops hitting the roof.
This is a beautiful, spacious vacation rental with a lovely view of the Plumper Strait between South Pender Island and Saturna Island. Snow-capped mountains on the B.C. mainland also are visible on clear days. It has a well-equipped kitchen. Amenities include a washer and dryer in the basement, a hot tub, and an outside grill.
A covered deck extends the length of the side of the house facing the sea, with double French doors providing access from both the living room and one of the bedrooms. Comfortable chairs make this an inviting spot.
The owner has thoughtfully provided two pairs of binoculars and a local bird guide as well as a number of books for both children and adults. A number of games are in the drawer under the books. A television with cable access, a DVD player, and a stereo system are in the living area. The WiFi speed (about 5 Mbps during our visit) is too slow to support streaming content, but a selection of DVDs is piled in a basket next to the entertainment center.
The wood stove is very effective on cool evenings, with an excellent draft to prevent any smoke from entering the living room. Wood is provided.
The entrance to the property is immediately before the entrance for the Mount Norman trailhead in the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. The property itself is set back from Canal Road and is very private — two neighboring properties are up the drive but out of view.
Mike was very responsive to emailed questions and called me to help resolve a tech issue we had when trying to watch a DVD.
We would caution visitors to pay extra attention when negotiating the steps outside the front door. The top step is much narrower than the broad second step and it is easy to misjudge that.
This property is a 5 star all the way. We were a family of 5 adults, in which there was plenty of room. This place is stocked with everything you can think of and more. We enjoyed playing games that were there. Plenty of towels so you could have a separate towel for the hot tub, which we used every evening- such a nice treat. The view outside the wrap around deck was stunning and a great place for a morning coffee or an afternoon beverage. Communication with Mike was prompt and all instructions were thorough making the booking easy. Everything about this place was amazing and would highly recommend and if back on Pender Island wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Why they chose this property
On a Mother's Day trip to Pender, we fell in love with the beauty and peacefulness of the Island. We enjoy exploring the numerous beaches and coves. In 2003 we built our dream home. We love to escape the busy city whenever we can to recharge!
What makes this property unique
We built this house on a rocky ridge to capture the spectacular views. We love the post and beam structure with lots of windows and skylights to let the sunlight in. Our favourite time is enjoying coffee on the deck watching the sun come up in the morning, and boats sailing by.
