The space
» . . . . . WHAT: Big Sky Blue is located on a private lot set inside a small Woods Bays (Bigfork) community. It's graced with cozy woods and deer that frequent the area. It comes furnished with linens, a fan, coffee, a kettle and cooler box for food. THERE IS NO WATER, and our guests must provide their own drinking water. The bed is slightly smaller than a queen (larger than a full). There is a micro-sized closet for stowing items away. Big Sky Blue is a dry camper, which means it has electric only (please bring your own water). There is a clean porta-John on site. Biodegradable shower/body wipes are provided.
Please note: There is no on-site shower access! There are showers available (for a fee) in Bigfork for those of you that don't consider a dip in the lake a proper shower!
The grounds are SHARED with another vintage camper, a cute log cabin and a larger home for other guests (see our listings).
The land is raw (undeveloped). You are paying for a cozy, safe place to rest, relax, a porta-John (no shower) and PRIVATE LAKE ACCESS. :) If you need air conditioner, running water, or real bathrooms, please consider staying in one of Flathead Lake Resort's cabins (across the street) that has these amenities.
Flathead Lake access is very hard to find, unless visiting a state park. Please take this into consideration when booking with us as we are thrilled to offer our shared private beach with our guests!
» . . . . . WHERE: Located next to Flathead Lake Resort, a property that was built in the 1940's and is part of a calm lakeside community in Woods Bay (Bigfork, Montana). We are located 45 minutes south of GLACIER NATIONAL PARK. Be sure to view the "Where you’ll be" section located UNDER the MAP on this listing.
» . . . . . ACCESS: Located just off Highway 35, you will have quick and easy access to get anywhere you want to be. Because of our ideal location, there is some road noise early in the morning (~6am) into the early evening (sleeping hours are quiet).
» . . . . . ELECTRICITY: This cabin has electricity for small electronics.
» . . . . . BATHROOM: A porta-john is provided on site. It is cleaned fresh weekly by the pros. We provide guests with biodegradable shower/body wipes.
» . . . . . (NO) On-Site SHOWER:
•••• Portable showers are not allowed (per county regulations)
•••• We provide guests with biodegradable shower/body wipes

•••• Or, we recommend buying a Montana State Park pass to access Wayfarer State Park (5 minutes north) as well as other state parks with showers for your travels.
. . . . . Showers at Wayfarer State Park. You can purchase tokens at the Ranger Station.
. . .. . .Showers available at the Washboard Laundromat.
Multi-day passes replace the need for a day use pass + Montana has beautiful state parks for your visiting pleasures! Six state parks are located on Flathead Lake alone.
This is Montana-style Glamping for those of you that are ok bringing your own drinking water, not showering on site for your stay, and want to be immersed in our private and adorable woods, talk to the deer, get a good nights sleep and enjoy our beach on Flathead Lake!
Guest access
Guests will have access to the shared yard surrounded by trees as well as shared picnic tables, a propane grill, and fire pit.
Access to the private neighborhood beach on Flathead Lake is about a ~3 minute walk. This is a treasure and rare opportunity to be within walking distance of the pristine waters Flathead Lake has to offer, unless visiting a state park.
There is a fire pit on the beach and a charcoal grill is provided (when there is not a fire ban in place).

We LOVE our neighborhood!! We are located in a quaint and quirky community that dates back to the 1940s. We love our neighbors and we love the vibe of our 70 year old neighborhood. We're not fancy, but we're fun! You will see vintage cars, boats and tractors along the gravel road and that's what makes Woods Bay so cool in our book - it's a little slice of authentic Montana at its finest. Neighborhood animals may be out. The area is very safe.
We are located just off Highway 35, which runs along the BEAUTIFUL, scenic drive on the east shore of Flathead Lake. There will be road noise during the day, but that's the best time of day to hike and swim, so you may not notice the noise anyways. :) Please be aware of this.
From our location, you will find:
