About this property
Wapiti Woods Packwood Escape
Welcome to Wapiti Woods!
Your basecamp for both adventure and relaxation, this home offers rustic charm with modern convenience.
Located in scenic Packwood, and situated at the foot of prominent Butter Peak, this is the perfect location for your next vacation.
With two California Kings, a queen, and a bunk bed room, this house comfortably accommodates 8 guests, with comfort for all. Originally built in 1975, and recently updated, this house still has some of the original elements of the era, including exposed cedar wood ceiling beams, separate laundry/gear cabin, and a narrow staircase to the second floor. Caution is encouraged for anyone ascending or descending from the second floor bedrooms.
Perfectly situated between Mt. Rainier National Park to the north, the Goat Rocks Wilderness to the south, and White Pass to the east, this house makes the perfect starting point for outdoor adventures.
Enjoy winter skiing and snowboarding at White Pass Ski Area, or head across the road from there, for miles of groomed Nordic skiing tracks. Once you return, the laundry room/outdoor gear cabin makes the perfect place to stow your snow sports equipment and wash your clothes before your next outing.
Once the snow has melted, strap on the hiking gear and head out for miles of exploration in premier hiking terrain.
And for any time of year, enjoy walking around this friendly, secluded neighborhood. Enjoy views of the Cowlitz River, with local community-only access. After dark, make sure to take advantage of the community Gnome Trail. Just around the corner and three houses down, this trail is lit up with hundreds of lights, and nearly as many gnomes, a neighborhood must-see!
Back at the house, enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub, or delight in the backyard fire ring. Inside you can kick back on the sofa while enjoying your favorite book or stream your favorite show from the WiFi-enabled tv.
A fully stocked kitchen allows for cooking all your favorite foods and brewing your best cup of coffee. Your next adventure awaits!
