About this property
Chalet Le Fossile | Charlevoix
Bring the whole family to this amazing place with plenty of space to have fun.
This stunning, spacious century-old home offers breathtaking views of the river. A guaranteed and unforgettable trip back in time!
Built over 200 years ago, the house was originally located on Rue Fleurie, once the main thoroughfare of the village. This stately home likely belonged to a wealthy English-speaking family who came to enjoy the natural beauty of the region. Its foundations are made of rubble walls built from stacked stones, while the structure itself rests on massive tree trunks, hand-hewn and stacked to form the exterior walls. Its name, Le Fossile, refers both to the age of the house and to the discovery of a fossil embedded in one of the fireplace stones. The imposing chimney is without a doubt the heart of the home, which was lovingly restored in 2014 by Alain Rajotte and Florent Moser. Today, Le Fossile is designed with comfort in mind. The ground floor includes one bedroom, one bathroom, a summer kitchen, and the main living areas, while the upper floor features four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
A harmonious blend of history, nature, and modern comfort, Le Fossile has preserved its old-world charm while adapting beautifully to the needs of contemporary life.
