About this property
The Woodshed - charming 3 bdrm/1 bath bungalow in Enterprise
The Woodshed began as a place for musicians to gather, teach, rehearse, jam, and rest their weary heads. It still serves this purpose, and has now become available to others who are traveling through the peaceful little town of Enterprise, Oregon. Whether you're on your way to beautiful Wallowa Lake, a hike in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, or simply taking a weekend to relax and take in the beauty of Wallowa County, you'll love our sweet little craftsman bungalow.
Built in 1910, this cozy little bungalow has a charm all its own. Close to downtown Enterprise, with views of the majestic Wallowa Mountains, the house is situated very conveniently for whatever adventures your trip entails. Health food store, liquor store, and local grocery are less than a block away.
Two of the three bedrooms have queen beds, the third has a twin and a twin/trundle...perfect for kids. The futon couch in the living room opens to a double bed as well, making the space great for groups or families.
There's a full bath with tub/shower, and the kitchen has range and mini-fridge, coffee makers, dishes, pots and pans, and pretty much anything you'd need.
Our pride and joy is the vintage upright Steinway piano in the living room...please treat her kindly--she'd love to be gently played. There are usually a handful of stringed instruments lying around for your use as well.
Some of the history of this house is evident on the "wall of fame"--band posters and love notes from the various musicians who've stayed here over the last couple of decades.
Enjoy the vintage stereo with working turntable, AM/FM radio and 8-track tape player! (LPs provided) Also a variety of board games.
There's a private back yard to hang out in, or grab a chair on the front porch and enjoy the mountain view.
This is not a new home, but clean and comfortable. You'll have the whole house to yourself!
Parking is in the back yard, and it's important not to block the driveway which we share with the house next door. Please keep the outside back porch door closed.
We do allow fully house-trained dogs with an extra pet fee. You are responsible for cleaning up anything your pet leaves behind. The back yard is spacious but not fully fenced, so you'll need to keep a close eye on pets and not let them wander to the neighbors. We ask that you not allow pets on the furniture.
5% of rental fees go to the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance (an Oregon 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) in support of local music programs.

About the host
Hosted by Janis Carper

I'm a musician and artist, and have lived and worked in Wallowa County, Oregon, since 2001. I am happy to be able to host visitors in our wonderful corner of the state, and encourage folks to get out and experience the natural beauty that surrounds us. We also have a thriving arts community and some mighty fine spots to eat and drink.
Why they chose this property
The house is easy to get to and close to Ruby Peak Naturals (natural food store with lunch), The Dollar Stretcher (independent grocer) and Moonshine Glass Art (watch glassblowing, or try it yourself!)
Also an easy walk to downtown or the city park.

What makes this property unique
The charm of the Woodshed lies in its rich history of being a musician's retreat, and there are plenty of instruments to play, a vintage record player, and original art adorning the walls.
