About this property
Big Bear RnR: Escape from Suburbia
Big Bear RnR is a cozy, comfy, and rustic retreat that fully embraces the mountain experience. Our 3-2 Gambrel style home serves as the perfect getaway for those seeking to escape the doldrums of suburbia. Situated in the friendly Peter Pan neighborhood, close to the lake, mountain resorts, and downtown village, this easily accessible cabin blesses every soul that steps within its magical walls of rest and relaxation.
About Big Bear RnR:
Our cozy cabin is conveniently located minutes from world class ski resorts, the beautiful Big Bear Lake, and The Village, (dining, nightlife, entertainment, local shops). Nestled in the tranquil and peaceful Peter Pan neighborhood, Big Bear RnR was built in 1991 and is 1381 sq ft.
Partially fenced to delineate between neighbor’s property lines, the cabin has a side yard for snow play, outside games, and a future jacuzzi. 2 parking spots are available in the driveway, with multiple entrances to the house. Equipped with a wrap-around 90 degree deck, guests can survey their kingdom in its full majesty, while breathing in that fresh mountain and pine air. Each sip of your coffee, tea, or beverage of choice takes on a special meaning when enjoyed on your throne for a day (or several!).
We value your convenience and safety, which is why we offer a completely contactless check-in process. Regardless of your arrival time, you'll be able to access the property at your leisure, day or night. You will receive a unique door code two days before check in which will be active for only the duration of your stay.
Upon stepping foot into the cabin, you'll be greeted with the rustic and comfy coziness expected in a mountain retreat. The living room is large and adorned with a fireplace, recliners, a leather sleeper sofa, a multitude of board games, a jacket and boot rack, plenty of blankets, and 60" mounted flat screen smart TV. Complimentary high speed wifi internet is available to connect as well. One of our favorite things to do is cozy up to the fire while sipping a cocktail and enjoying a game or watching a movie!
The kitchen has a dishwasher, all the plates, utensils, cups, pots and pans you could ask for, multiple coffee makers, microwave, fridge, etc.
There are 2 full bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs), with complimentary body wash, shampoo and conditioner in each shower. There is a hair dryer (upstairs bathroom), a first aid kit (downstairs bathroom), and plenty of space to put your toiletries as you make yourself at home.
The 3 bedrooms are upstairs and range in size, with a queen bed and TV in one, a full bed in the other, and two sets of twin bunk beds for singles and the kiddos. Each room has its own closet with hangers, extra blankets, pillows, a fan, laundry hamper, luggage rack, and USB charging ports, so unload, unwind, and get comfy!
Speaking of laundry, there is a washer and dryer on the first floor, next to the owner's closet. Plenty of cleaning supplies are available for those wanting to keep a tidy space during longer stays.
Big Bear RnR has central heating, but does not have central air-conditioning. During the warmer summer months the cabin does have powerful oscillating circulator fans in each room. Central AC is not typical for mountain cabins.
Please note...there are cameras located at the entrances of the property. These are solely on the exterior of the property. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons and to monitor occupancy and other property policies. It in no way infringes upon the expectation of privacy in these public areas. To disable or obscure the cameras is prohibited and may result in the immediate removal of guest(s) and forfeiture of all amounts paid.
Some neighborhood notes:
This is a flat neighborhood, so you won't have any problems going up or down the driveway, or getting onto North Shore Dr, which is extremely well plowed. Big Bear RnR is only 2 miles from the lake, 3 miles from the Big Bear Mountain Resort overflow parking, and 5 miles from the village.
Distance to popular spots:
-Oktoberfest 1 mile
-Snow Summit 3 miles
-Lake 2 miles
-Village 5 miles
-Alpine Zoo 3.5 miles
Things to note about the differences up in the mountains vs. the flatland down below...
Big Bear experiences power outages more than other areas due to our mountain location. Utility companies shut it down to limit damages and possibilities of fire. We do not refund for power disruptions during your stay. We will do our best to alert you with any info we get from the providers whenever possible.
Weather:
Snow removal services are supposed to arrive within 24 hours of any snowfall more than 4+ inches, to clear the driveway and a pathway to the main entrance. Snow removal companies cannot guarantee a specific time the property will be serviced. Therefore, guests may have to shovel a spot to park if they arrive before the snow removal company or if it snows during their stay. There have been times in larger storms (2ft+ of snowfall) when snow removal can take longer. It doesn’t happen often, just know that in those cases we are doing everything we can to get someone out there.
Please be aware that weather conditions can change rapidly especially during winter months. We are unable to honor last-minute cancellations due to weather/road conditions. Chains or 4WD/AWD vehicle requirements are often in effect in order to enter Big Bear Valley. Guests booking a stay in the winter should be prepared for the possibility of tire chains being necessary to travel to Big Bear. This requirement is enforced by city officials and law enforcement. We recommend arriving before dark; guests arriving late during the winter months may encounter icy roads and long delays.
Seasonal recreational activities include…
Mountain Biking, Hiking, Boating, Tour Boats, Fishing Charter, Water Skiing, Jet Skiing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Wakeboarding, Golf Course, Scenic Sky Chair, Speedway, Ropes Course, Zip Lining, Alpine Slide, Mineshaft Coaster, Water Slide, Go-Karts, Mini Golf, Off Roading, Segway Tours and Horseback Riding, Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Sledding, Snow Tubing and Snow Play Bowling, Axe Throwing, Mountain Room Escapes, Urban Adventure Quest, Alpine Zoo, Gold Rush Mining Adventure, Big Bear History Museum, Discovery Center and Helicopter Tours.

All parts of the home are accessible by guests, minus the owner's closet which is locked. The garage is also locked and restricted to cleaners and the host. The home is partially fenced to show the perimeter between neighbors, and provide privacy for those wanting to enjoy the yard.
