About this property

Cozy Historic 2 Bed/2 Bath 1 mile to Downtown in Daniels Hill w/Creek Views

Stay in our cozy historic (c.1895) 2 bed/2 bath home in the quiet transitioning downtown neighborhood of Daniel's Hill with backyard views of the James River valley and the foothills of the Blue Ridge. Enjoy the comforts of home with historic charm and fully equipped kitchen, living room (TV/WiFi/DVDs), dining room, and outdoor areas. Centrally located to easily access Downtown Lynchburg, Rivermont, Randolph College, multiple biking/walking trails and parks, and a short walk to Point of Honor.

Little Cabell is located in the historic neighborhood of Daniel's Hill and only a mile from downtown Lynchburg. We love how easy it is to walk or bike downtown (1 mile) or to one of the nearby parks (Blackwater Creek Natural Area/Bike Trail, Hollins Mill Park/Bike Trail, Percivel's Island & Natural Area/Bike Trail, Riveredge Park, Riverfront Park, Riverside Park). We are less than 2 miles from Randolph College and less than 7 miles from Liberty University. We are less than 2 miles from James River Adventures if you want to rent a canoe or kayak and the two boat ramps downtown if you bring your own.

We have set up Little Cabell with everything you need for a weekend trip or longer term stay. There is plenty of space indoors in the living room to get cozy on the couch watching DVDs or playing board games with friends and family.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, coffee maker with reusable filter, blender, toaster, and dishwasher to make meals. Enjoy the coffee/tea, oatmeal, and snacks we provide during your stay.

The dining room and table has plenty of seats for visiting guests to enjoy a meal together during your stay.

There is a small full bathroom and laundry area on the first floor just off the kitchen.

There are two private bedrooms upstairs - the first room has a king bed and desk for working if needed and the second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin daybed. There is a full bathroom on the second floor at the end of the hallway.

When the weather is nice enjoy the backyard with views of the creek ravine and James River valley and foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and outdoor fire pit or people watch from the front porch.

Please note that due to the age of the home the stair railings are low and may not be safe for young children or adults that have a hard time using stairs.

We have 1 dedicated parking space in the driveway. If you have extra vehicles we recommend parking on I street which is a 1/2 block away as no street parking is allowed in front of the home.
The entire home is available for guests to access except for the second bedroom closet that is locked during your stay.

Please note that our neighborhood is located on a bus route if you want to get around the city without using your vehicle. We do not recommend letting young children play in the street due to traffic. Please note that there are some abandoned houses and places needing repair due to the age of the neighborhood. Please note that you will likely see people walking down the street that may not have vehicles. Please note that due to the age of the home the stair railings are low and may not be safe for young children or adults that have a hard time using stairs.

We hope you love Little Cabell as much as we do and feel at home during your stay.
