About this property

The Maiden Voyage: Themed,Steps to Forsyth,King Bed,Grill,Games,Picnic Basket

Historic charm meets modern maritime at The Maiden Voyage, thoughtfully themed with lavish king bed, comfy West Elm sleeper sofa, fast internet+workstation, large smart TVs, grill, and fully-appointed kitchen for short-term sailors, last-minute landlubbers, and monthlong mermaids alike. Iconic Forsyth Park and year-round Farmers Market are just steps away. All within 5 mins. *walking* you’ll find local gems like Strange Bird, Sentient Bean, Local 11ten, Corner Suite, and White Whale Craft Ales.

Enjoy key-free access to this upstairs unit, a historic piece of early 20th century Savannah now tastefully modernized to fit the needs of any Savannah stay. Sip a morning cup of coffee from the Keurig as you sink into the West Elm couch or the suspended egg chair in the sunny backyard. Walk 2 minutes to verdant Forsyth Park for a morning stroll and catch the Saturday Farmers Market before meandering downtown to take in River Street and more of Savannah’s city squares. Swing back by The Maiden Voyage to grab our guest picnic basket - fully equipped with utensils, tools, plates, blanket, wine holder, and cups for any snacker’s or wino’s needs - for a sunset picnic in Forsyth stocked with some healthy groceries from Brighter Day Natural Foods across the street. Go out to some of Savannah’s iconic spots downtown or uptown, shop upscale or thrifty, or just stay in altogether for a cozy night with a fully-equipped kitchen, a propane grill and backyard setup ready for any grill sergeant, or numerous nearby cuisines for delivery or takeout. Enjoy a second sunset, this time via wall mural in the bedroom, before cuddling up in the king-size bed and winding down with your favorite movie on the bedroom’s big-screen smart TV.

Relax and recharge at The Maiden Voyage amidst your Savannah adventures with all of these options and more, or plug back in as needed, with 300 Mbps FAST wifi for streaming over a handful of devices at once, and multiple workstation surfaces fully equipped for your short- or long-term stay!

BEDROOM
The bedroom features a king bed with high-quality linens, breathable duvet, and plenty of pillows alongside oversized blackout curtains for a good night’s rest. Ten-foot ceilings and large, original windows give the space air, elegance, and sun-drenched daytimes. A large-screen mounted smart TV adorns the wall opposite the bed for easy viewing and cozy movie nights. Decorative touches throughout the room are headlined by the suspended modern wooden whale lamp. The retro Vornado fan doubles as both an excellent circulator and a white noise generator for those looking to mask the hustle and bustle of city streets during busier times of year. A large standing mirror makes for more convenient suiting up, dressing up, or getting made up prior to a day or night out on the town. Nautical nightstands with soft glow lamps and USB and outlet surge protectors mean less fuss and fidgeting for your morning and nighttime routines. And a large 9-drawer dresser and high-ceiling closet (with portable steamer) mean you, family, and/or friends can comfortably settle in during your stay without having to live out of your suitcase.
WORKSTATION / STUDIO
We have a workstation / studio nook branching off from the bedroom that features your host Paige’s very own sailor’s sunset wall mural as a backdrop with playful lighting. A simple desk arranged by a large, original window overlooks one of Savannah’s very own Southern live oaks; the desk features solid, ample surface area to ensure space for a laptop, portable monitor, keyboard, mouse, and then some - or easily fold the desk up to convert the area into an artist’s studio for your latest canvas drawings and design. A dimmable touch lamp with USB charger allows you to easily stay plugged in and work in the lighting that you find most productive, with a fun globe stand for a bit of geographic stimulation.

Our dining table with two flap leaves that fold into place offers a second work surface to round out any remote work duo. And for the more ergonomically-minded digital nomads, our wooden countertop surface in the kitchen can be creatively used as a standing desk.

LIVING ROOM
The living room’s heart runs through our large West Elm couch, which you can sink into for casual reading, blanketed cuddling, or the latest sports, movies, or TV shows on our large-screen smart TV mounted across the way; the couch doubles as a queen sleeper sofa with tempurpedic mattress rather than the traditional “backbreaker” sofa beds. Our footrest ottoman has a coffee table alter-ego by flipping the top over. The Maiden Voyage’s centerpiece model ship dangles above our navy blue mantel, decorated with some maritime touches and a spread of books to enjoy at your leisure. Vibrant overhead lights from the rustic chandelier can be complemented or swapped for softer, dimmable couchside lighting as nighttime reading rolls around. And finally, our closet is stocked with various utilities and practical what-ifs: lightbulbs, chargers, flashlight, first aid, basic tools and spare batteries - but thoughtfully stowed into containers away from any young ones’ prying arms.

DINING AREA
Our dining area features a petite wooden table - with two comfy cream dining chairs - that easily folds out into a circular four-person table for any quartets staying at The Maiden Voyage. The kitchen is fully equipped (see below!) with everything to set the table for the perfect stay-in date-night, hangout, or family meal.

KITCHEN
Our kitchen is filled to a cook’s desire, with tools and vessels ranging from colander to meat thermometer to full grill set to blender to air fryer to ladle to bowl and plastic tupperware to tea kettle to mugs to plastic cups, wine glasses, and plates alongside more traditional glassware. Whether you’re whipping up a full night’s dinner or just enjoying some tasty takeout, our fully-appointed kitchen is equipped to ensure you make the most of your meal. Even at The Maiden Voyage, we try to avoid sea-salty tap water, so we’ve also got a water filter pitcher to convert the tap water into more delightfully drinkable H2O. Our electric oven and stovetop makes for quick cooking, with overhead microwave vent to keep the air flow fresh. Our dishwasher makes doing dishes a breeze, and our retractable screen door allows for some fresh air while you’re cooking up a storm.

PARKS & RECREATION
Game on. Picnic on. Park on. The Maiden Voyage features a sophisticated yet chic picnic basket containing all your picnicker needs [wine glasses, cooler, blanket, corkscrew, utensils, handkerchiefs, and more] to make your day out at majestic Forsyth Park or any of Savannah’s verdant squares as easy and memorable as possible, without needing to pack anything extra yourself before your stay. At home or at the park, enjoy our selection of nearly two dozen board games and card games, curated to strike a healthy balance of word games, games of chance, strategy games, games of wit, and of course the old classics including Battleship. And for the sportier guests, a soccer ball and football lie ready to be used in our living room closet (with an air pump just in case).

OUTDOOR SPACE
Our backyard offers fresh air and lounging comfort complete with grill, dining table and chairs, and a charming suspended “egg” chair that you’ll sink right into with childish delight. Take in the morning sun or cool down in the shade of the retractable umbrella. Our propane grill, full grill set, and even backup propane ensures you’re ready for your very own BBQ meal. Please note that the backyard space is shared with the downstairs unit and serves as emergency egress for the neighbors, so in the unlikely event there are others down there, you may need to wait a few minutes before enjoying or make a couple new friends :)

PARKING
There is free street parking immediately in front of the home that covers nearly the full length of our half of the block (~6 “car lengths” wide), with backup parking on busy days available just around the corner, one block over, and on most adjacent streets. You’ll be shared with simple yet detailed instructions for parking to ensure you’re fully covered.

LAUNDRY
Private high-power washer and dryer are available just outside of the unit (on your right as you walk in), with free supplies offered to run your wash during your stay so that you don’t need to pack anything extra to account for cleanup after a night out, recreation in the park, a morning run, the toddler spill, or an earthy picnic. A steamer is also tucked into the bedroom closet for your use ahead of any special occasions!
