Enjoy the privacy of an urban acreage, which is conveniently located 4 miles from downtown Des Moines. House has large deck and an excellent bbq zone. The massive Catalpa, Oak, and Maple trees give plenty of shade for hanging outside. Excellent setup if you are traveling with a pet. Has a fire pit area that is great when the conditions are appropriate. Older house that is clean, peaceful, private, and comfortable.

I grew up in Iowa and bought this house while in Graduate School at Iowa State University. After graduation moved to Hawaii where I taught at a college and became a real estate broker. This is the first house I bought and always enjoyed it and decided to make it into a rental for others to enjoy while in Des Moines. Ease of commuting and has huge yard with minimal neighbors. Nature is happy here.

What makes this property unique

You are so close to downtown but feel like you are far from the city. Massive old tree in the yard, excelelnt landscaping, and a timber borders the back of the property. Get to see a lot of wildlife. I have actually found morel mushrooms at the back of the property on a couple of occasions.
