2 families stayed here- 4 adults and 4 kids (under 7). Views were amazing. Very clean property with all amenities. 2nd kitchen was a bonus with 2 families! Will come back!
We love this place and keep coming back!!!!
Added bonus we can launch our small boat right from the property. The beach is clean and Sandy. Is always a great time.
This was our family's first time staying on a pond or lake and our kids absolutely adored the experience at this home. We were left wanting for nothing. The home is immaculate and well stocked, the view is unbelievable, and the location is absolutely ideal for kids, with a large grassy yard, a sandy beach and no drop-off in the water, a dock off of which they could jump, and a pedal boat that the kids loved. We've been missing the home ever since we left, and talk about it all the time. It was a magical week and Deb was a fantastic host. I can't recommend this location enough!
We have been staying in the lake region for about 15 years now. And we absolutely love the area, people, and the food. But the last seven or eight years we've been staying at this location. It is the best piece of property you could ask for. And the home owner is so great to deal with. Can't wait to come back again next year!
My July 2021 stay consisted of five, ranging in age from 4 to looking at 70 in the rearview mirror. So the range of needs and wants were quite varied and this property met them all except the fish that eluded our hooks. Shallow beach for the youngest? Got it. Fast internet for the myriad of tablets that come out at night? Yup. Cable tv for late night viewing, much appreciated. Dishwasher so nice meals can be had without taking forever to clean up, check. Little things too like flashlights and night lights strategically placed around the home are nice touches that not all hosts would think of without being overwhelming so there’s still room to put away your own supplies.
Ever stay in a hotel, close the bathroom door and it becomes immediately clear the staff has rarely cleaned with the door closed? Not here; things are cleaned front, back, up and down.
Anything I can think of that some might view as a negative are outside the control of the owners. The section of Moose Pond where the camp is located is shallow so it does have a lot of grass to catch your fishing hook on. If you’re looking for a spot to dive off the dock, this isn’t it - deep enough for a boat to be clear but not for diving. The sandbar in front is a nice grass free area though anyone over 40 (clears throat) may struggle to get into and out of a tube given the lack of depth. Flip side of that coin though is there is great space for younger kids to spread out and play.
We didn’t use the canoe but the paddleboat was a nice diversion. One morning we saw a deer swim from the island across the pond back to the mainland and the bald eagle checked in daily. Also there was a complete lack of mosquitos which caused me to often question if we were still in Maine!
My whole group is looking forward to returning next year.
Our family has stayed here now for our 7th year. The home is great, clean, well sticked and well maintained. The yard and waterfront are great for games and fishing too.
We love coming here. We’ve been coming for a few years now and it’s always been great!!! Everything we want in a vacation. It’s quite, relaxing and the water is so clean!!! Fishing is great. Sad we had to leave. We'll be back next year!!!
This was a very special place. The owners thought of everything that we could possibly need. This was the perfect rental for two couples as each floor had a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. We went swimming, kayaking and boating everyday and the yard was big enough for playing cornhole and bocci ball. Thank you for a wonderful week and we hope to be back next year.
Perfect spot for kids! Nice sandy area for small children to play. Lake was beautiful. House was incredibly clean and the set up was great for two families.
We had a fantastic week here for vacation. Such a relaxing atmosphere in such a clean and well maintained home. Perfect combination of looking new with the charm of how long it’s been there still present. The property has a shallow/sand bottom swimming area next to dock which also doubles as a boat launch if you bring one! They have a canoe and paddle boat, and we brought our kayaks and fishing boat with us. Saw many birds including Eagles, Loons, ducks, Geese, hummingbirds & woodpeckers. Owners had everything needed in stock, and were very attentive to any needs. Would definitely recommend this property for family or two small families as each level has a kitchen and bathroom.
House is located on a nice section of Moose Pond. The fishing in early June is great. Lot's of large bass. Lake Water is crystal clear.
House is comfortable, having 2 kitchens is a plus
This was our fifth year in this home. The owner is easy to communicate with. The property is absolutely perfect with nice sandy beach front to the water and plenty of room for some back yard games we bring.
This was our favorite property on a lake in the last 15 years of coming up to this area of Maine. The house set up was great, it was clean, the water in front of the house was a beautiful sand bar the views of Pleasant Mnt accrosd the lake with the sun set ere unbelievably!!

About the host

I am a third grade teacher who lives with my family about an hour south of Denmark. I spent all of my childhood summer weekends and most of my summers as an adult with my own children at my favorite place on Earth. I manage the rental for my dad, who owns the property. We had a rental company do it before, so I am excited about adding this personal touch for our renters, who will be enjoying such a special place.
Why they chose this property
My mom and Dad bought the land from my Grandfather who developed Swan Road and Cygnet Drive. Swan Road is named after my grandfather, Arthur Swan, who built the road and sold the lots. Cygnet Drive is named for my Mom, who was a cygnet, a baby Swan. My Mom and Dad, who was a carpenter, built the camp back in the 60s. The above picture is of my dad, the owner, my 3 siblings, and myself. Our family enjoyed many wonderful summer weekends together at camp as children, as well as many years after with our own children. Since my Mom's passing 13 years ago, we started renting the place in the summers.
What makes this property unique
I have loved this place since my very first memories. My heart always skips a little when I turn the corner in the road and see the mountain in the distance for the very first time each spring. Aside from all the memories, I enjoy looking out the windows and seeing the mountain, the lake, and the wildlife. The first call of the loon lets me know summer is finally here. Another reason is being able to jump in our boat and go for a ride whenever we want. I hope you enjoy this special place as much as our family has and still does.
