About this property
Cozy 3-bedroom Cabin in Grassy Creek - close to the New River. Pet friendly!
Just minutes from the New River and tucked at the mouth of Helton Creek—renowned for its trout fishing—this cozy cabin is perfectly situated for both outdoor adventure and quiet retreat. Cast a line in the morning, float the river in the afternoon, or lace up your boots and explore nearby trails.
Prefer a slower pace? Stay in for movie night on the massive 78” TV, or curl up with a book on the covered decks. Whether you're here to unwind or roam, this cabin gives you space to do it all.
Welcome to your mountain escape.
Perched on a peaceful hillside surrounded by wooded beauty, this cozy cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort and privacy. With 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and two inviting living spaces, there’s plenty of room for family or friends to spread out and relax.
Inside the Cabin:
The heart of the home is the open-concept kitchen and dining area, fully stocked with everything you need—from cookware and dishware to a well-appointed coffee bar with coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer. Gather at the dining table for six, or pull up a stool at the island for a quick bite. Just off the kitchen, you'll find a warm sitting area with a fireplace, books, games, and a TV—perfect for slow mornings or cozy nights in.
Downstairs, the walk-out basement offers a second living space that’s built for fun. Kick back for movie night on the 78" TV, play foosball, mini pool, table hockey, or ping pong, or let the kids lounge in the bean bags while you unwind by the fireplace.
Where You’ll Sleep:
The upstairs open loft features a king suite with en suite bathroom.
The main floor includes a second king bedroom and a third bedroom with full-over-full bunks—perfect for kids or extra guests.
A futon in the basement offers additional sleeping space, plus access to a third full bathroom.
Extras Included:
We’ve stocked the cabin with the essentials so you can pack light. You'll find clean linens, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, along with cleaning supplies and a starter set of paper products.
The Outdoors:
The covered decks are the real showstoppers—spend your mornings sipping coffee with a view, or wind down at sunset surrounded by nothing but trees and the sounds of the creek below.
About the Area:
Tucked away in Grassy Creek, NC, you're in the quiet northern corner of Ashe County—where rolling farmland meets forested ridges. It’s a peaceful, less-traveled part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, rich in charm and natural beauty. Explore scenic drives, hiking trails, local farms, or take a short trip into West Jefferson for great dining, breweries, and art galleries. Whether you're looking to unplug or explore, this is the kind of place that invites you to slow down and savor every moment.
Guest access:
The entire home is available for your use other than the locked owners closets located in the upstairs loft bedroom. There is an additional closet in that room that is available for your use.
NICE TO KNOW:
The last approximately 3 miles to the cabin are off a gravel road.
The driveway is gravel and has a dip and then ascent to the cabin. If you're used to rural roads you may think nothing of it, but if it's your first time on the driveway, you may want to arrive in daylight to acclimate. It's not very long but it does slope at an incline to get to the cabin from the main road. There is flat parking for 2 vehicles right outside the cabin entrance. There is additional parking at the bottom of the driveway near the entrance.
OUTDOOR CAMERA:
There is an outdoor camera looking out over the driveway as well as a camera at the front entrance facing the driveway. They can record video and sound and are on 24/7.
