Stayed for 2 nights in January. House was as described, clean and staples are there so only needed to bring food. Adjacent to ocean and nice fire pit sitting area overlooking the oceanside. Host communicated throughout and no issues whatsoever.
We were really impressed with the care and attention to detail taken with this property. The owners have clearly spent time refurbing this home and have added nice amenities, my favorite being the fire pit and chairs to sit by the ocean. It’s in a great location and Bonavista was a great town for guests.
This was an amazing property. We were completely at home with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable and we loved the decor. To have fresh sea air every day and a lovely view was a bonus! The fire pit was lovely and the dry wood was great!
Conveniently close to everything in town, this cute, renovated, historical property right on the water was the perfect place for two couples to get away. The entire home was exceptionally clean, there were plenty of towels, linens as well as spices, condiments, coffee and tea. Mark and Luke were accommodating and responsive and the welcome gift was most thoughtful.
We loved staying at this charming little home in Bonavista! Such a charming location right on the ocean with a striking rock peninsula out back. Very funky interior in an authentic fishing village building. We recommend this property without question!
We had a great stay here! The house had everything we needed to cook and the extra touches from the hosts were lovely. It was warm, cozy, clean and fully stocked. We would stay here again for sure!

Wonderful stay, the property is right on the ocean, we even had whales swim by. The host were fantastic and have everything you need in the house and are also very willing to help in any way the can. Definitely a great place to stay if visiting Bonavista.
host was very responsive to any questions, great view, close to everything (stores, restaurants and attracctions), well appointed, clean house - couldn't have asked for more!
upstairs is not for really tall people
A perfect little house right on the ocean. Awesome location to downtown and to some scenic adventures. Friendly neighbours. The house was clean and had everything you would need for a couple nights away. Thanks for the great hospitality
We really enjoyed our stay! Great location and beautiful view! We even saw whales from the backyard on our last evening! The property is within walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to fun activities. One caution: if you have someone taller than 6’2” (187 cm) be careful as this is an older house and I don’t think they made doorways and staircases with taller people in mind 😉
What a cute and welcoming cottage…loved the bottle of wine and the chocolates!! Comfortable bed and cozy linens. There was a fire pit..(too humid to start a fire) and a basket full of throws to wrap up in when sitting around the fire..great idea!
The hiking trails that were recommended by Luke were great…I would highly recommend this place..beautiful place with a great view of the ocean!
We stayed here 2 nights and wished we could stay longer. The house was exactly as listed and there were no surprises! The view is spectacular..right on the water and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon happy hour sitting in the yard overlooking the ocean. Luke and Mark were quick to respond and easy to work with…thanks so much for the treats you left us..we thoroughly enjoyed them. We would definitely return
We lucked out in finding this little gem near the ocean in Bonavista. The home was so quaint and beautifully appointed, with everything we could imagine we'd need, right down to a complimentary bottle of wine and locally made soaps! Luke stopped in to make sure we were comfortable and gave us some suggestions for shopping and dining. In warmer weather, the home is within walking distance to a few shops and restaurants, but unfortunately the weather was a bit wild. We would come back just to stay in this home again!
Rendell House is a lovely two bedroom home, right on the water. Beautifully decorated and well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. Luke was very responsive and helpful before our arrival and stopped by after our arrival to check that we had all we needed. Thank you for the welcome gift.
The house is located in town, so close to restaurants, museums and shopping. Recommend shopping for groceries at Swyers.
Lots to do and see in this area, Luke has made a great welcome info package.
This quaint, clean little home had all amenities you need. Although the house is small and the ceilings upstairs are low - there was plenty of space to hang out. My granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed exploring the huge rocks along the ocean’s edge. The views of the Atlantic are right in your backyard. We had hoped to use the fire pit which faces the Atlantic, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate. Maybe next year!
A warm and inviting, comfortable and clean house awaited us when we arrived in beautiful Bonavista. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials we wanted (coffee, tea, sugar), and the bathroom had plenty of clean, new towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The two bedrooms were equally lovely, although the slightly smaller one with a double bed was almost too tight for two tall people (6’1” and 5’10”). The only recommendation is a queen bed in both bedrooms.
The welcome note, pre-stamped postcard, bottle of wine and selection of artisan chocolates were a delightful and appreciated surprise.
Thank you, Luke, for making our stay so memorable.
This wasn’t our first time to Bonavista but this accommodation was much nicer than our last ‘motel-type’ spot a couple of years ago. So clean and cozy and well equipped! Luke and Mark were very gracious hosts and quick to help when the site was down that I had relied on logging into to gain access to the house. Thanks to another friendly neighbour who had a phone number for Luke and called him on our behalf. We were in the area to visit Trinity but also, primarily, we wanted to go back to Elliston to see the puffin and to the Skerwink Trail. Made it to both spots plus had some fine chowder at The Puffin Cafe. A very windy but photogenic visit to the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse capped our full day yesterday. Sadly, our two night stay was over and we headed out for the St Lawrence area this morning.
This was our second trip to Bonavista and staying at this house. Luke and Mark are such wonderful hosts and consider every last detail. The house was immaculately clean and the fridge already stocked with condiments, coffee and tea provided. A small grocery store is just down the road as well. BBQ for your use. Luke stopped by on the first day to make sure we had everything we needed and gave some suggestions for local restaurants. We will definitely be back again!!!
Remember to pack something warm as the nights are cool and the wind a bit chilly coming off the water as you sit by the ocean edge in the red Adirondack chairs 😊
Luke is such a perfect host. He is so responsive and helpful, and the cottage is spotless and comfortable. He lives nearby and came over shortly after we arrive to answer all of our questions and greet us. We stayed here last in 2019 and could not return until now due to COVID restrictions. We were so happy to return. The cottage is in a residential neighborhood and we became friends with several neighbors at our last stay. So wonderful to see them again! Amazing whale spotting in the backyard bay and offshore from the Bonavista Lighhouse and Spillar Cove. The most beautiful sunrises and sunsets too. We enjoyed a day trip to Skerwink Trail, Trinity and Port Rexton. I slept so soundly during my visit-it is a truly a peaceful getaway. We cooked most nights in the spacious kitchen and were grateful to have the washing machine and dryer. First visit, we stayed for two nights, this visit for four. Next time we will stay longer.... Thank you Luke. Wonderful to see you again! Missing my whales now that we are home.
