About this property

Newly Remodeled 2bd cottage

Beautifully remodeled 2bed. 1 bath. cottage. This unit is 1/2 of the house ( duplex). We only rent 1/2 and reserve the other 1/2 for ourselves.
You are going to have a use of semiprivate patio and also separate private patio on the side of the house.
Just a short (5-7min) walk to Lake Michigan shore. Private association beach. Our place has everything you would need for a great stay. Many restaurants around ( driving distance or short bike ride). We're just a block away from Blue plate cafe( serving breakfast and lunch). Farms for picking fresh peaches, cherries, apples and blackberries. Lots of things to do in addition to just relaxing on the beach.
We allow dogs as long as they are well behaved and don't chew on furniture.

Best beach vacation

This was our second time staying at this property. It was clean and just spacious enough for our family of four. The best part was the short walk to the private association beach!

Family Summer Getaway

Our family of four loved this hidden gem. The house was the perfect size and very clean. We loved how easy it was to access the private beach. Albert was extremely helpful answering our questions. We’re already planning to come back next year.

Surprised that we were expected to bring our own beach towels (finding out upon arrival is not cool) absolutely responsive to storm related internet outage. easy lovely place. Nice people (owners not a management company). would welcome using it again if I were ever to return.

3rd time back

Third time staying here for a girl's weekend, and it was just as great as before. Easy walk to the beach down the street, and centrally located to so many attractions a few minutes' drive away. This cottage is so well-maintained, with lovely landscaping and outdoor space. Inside space has all we needed. Thanks for another great stay!

Perfect Beach Getaway

We stayed at this property for a little beach getaway. The property was as described just the right size for our family of 4. The best part was definitely the private beach access. The beach is beautiful and uncrowded. Even on the chillier days my kids enjoyed wading in the water and looking for rocks. From the duplex, it is a short 5 minute walk to the beach!

Cute place

The place was really cute. We had some issues once with the Internet but Albert responded quickly. The only thing that I was not prepared for is the 3 flights of stairs to get to the beach. Getting my wagon and cooler up and down there was not fun. Other than that we had a great time!

Wish we could have stayed longer

Our family of 4 needed a quick getaway after a busy season of life. This cottage was just what we needed. The beach is a quick walk and wasn’t too crowded. Groceries and restaurants were also close. The owner was very responsive. I hope to get back there soon!

Good place

Water / beach was great. Bring a wagon for your kids/gear and a short walk is a breeze. Eat breakfast ever morning at oaks eatery in three oaks, best breakfast ever. House seemed clean and we loved the washer dryer. but bring a fire stick, the Roku device is very slow. Good vaca spot for kids and on a budget.

A lovely beachy weekend

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend of relaxation, beach time, and a bit of work. Albert is a wonderful host, and the unit was so well stocked with all we needed. Renovated kitchen and bathroom are especially lovely, as is the great backyard area which was perfect for breakfast and relaxing after dinner. Beach was about a 10 min walk away, and unit is a short drive to all nearby attractions, restaurants, etc. We'll be back but not soon enough!

Nice location for a long weekend

Clean updated house. The outdoor space could use some sprucing up. The chairs and hammock were pretty dirty. The house is actually divided into 2 units, but only one side is rented out. It doesnt say this in the description so it took a bot to figure out the entry situation. The private beach was great, but there is no parking, so pack light. Overall, it was a nice, quiet weekend and the owner responded quickly to my questions

The more you know…

I didn’t realize until after I had booked the property and read deep into the reviews that this is actually a duplex and you will share the yard & property with the owners. It was clean for the most part - extra care could have been taken to get more spiders out & the grill wasn’t cleaned out for us to use, so we didn’t. The walk to the beach was a bit farther than I expected, as well as several stairs, so be aware of that as well. When we stayed over July 4th, many of the neighborhood people who share the beach would leave their chairs & “mark their spots” on the beach. It’s not the biggest beach, so this was a bit of annoyance - I grew up on Lake Michigan & have gone there every summer & this is the first time I experienced that. Also, plan on spending an extra night’s worth on fees & being forced into insurance. After all that is said - it was a nice enough getaway for my daughter & me to stay pretty close to Lake Michigan.

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Albert’s property for a long weekend getaway from the city. The unit was clean and modern, and in a great location just a short walk from the beach and a quick drive to most amenities!

Great Beach Escape

Trip to the beach was a very short walk, and a association beach access was great. Not too crowded The house had everything we needed, and having on-site access to a washer and dryer was a HUGE plus.

Beach Oasis

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the cute neighborhood. Quick walk to the beach, so we went there every day! Great place for kids and adults. It was also really nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Excellent outdoor space for grilling and hanging out. Lovely garden on the grounds. Hope to stay there again next year!

Quiet little lake house

It was a short walk to the beach, but a long walk back. My kids 4 and six loved every minute of the place. We spent most of the day at the beach . The house had everything we needed for a short get away. My one suggestion would be larger trash bags , it felt like we were constantly taking out the trash.

Awesome Lake Michigan Getaway

This was the perfect getaway for us. The place was the perfect size for me, my wife and two young kids (4 & 6). The neighborhood was really nice and the walk to the beach was easy. The house had everything we needed. Would definitely go back.

Nicely updated, clean and great location!

We had a wonderful time! Our kids loved the private section of the beach. The house was nicely appointed, very clean, and a short walk from the private beach access. The streets in the neighborhood are all stone, and those with a lot of beach gear may want to bring a wagon, but you'd probably want to leave it at the top of the stairs down to the beach. That said, we had very few complaints from our little ones about the walk. We would definitely stay again!

Great place close to the private beach

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed my birthday weekend! Albert was a great host and answered all questions quickly. The walk to the beach wasn’t bad, even with two small children. There are about 50 stairs down to the beach so keep that in mind if you have any mobility issues (we Carried the 1.5 year old without any concerns). Overall the duplex was very clean, quiet, and well appointed. Would definitely stay here again!

Lake Life? Yes, please!

We hung out most of our stay at the private beach. Yay! We appreciated the minimal amount of people around. We had the beach to ourselves several times. Inside, air conditioning worked perfectly on a humid day. We stayed inside only briefly since the beach made us all so happy. The rental came with about everything we needed. Loved the spacious bathroom and its large shower. My only stew is small things that can quickly improve. The grass could have been mowed...sorry, my husband struggles to relax outdoors unless the grass is nicely groomed. (Kids may be the real culprit of that struggle). 😂 Lastly, some insight for visitors with kids…we each had quite a bit to carry to spend all day near the water. The walk was about 7 -10 min. Maybe bring a portable wagon to carry your cooler, chairs, shovels, etc., as the walk is a little lengthy for going back constantly; I’m 47, maybe not a gripe for 20-somethings. I didn't see anywhere to park a vehicle, but we are average health, so we toughed it out by walking. There is a locked gate to enter the beach, which is nice. I’m a lightweight; I got a little too exhausted to haul stuff after throwing back some Lake Life beverages. It was a good time! Thank you!
