Miles Away cottage has a rustic log cabin feel, knotty pine interior with all the amenities you'd ever want. The kitchen is perfectly situated and over looks the lake. The living room is off the kitchen and has a beautiful wood burning fireplace and a dining area with a table that can comfortably seat 8 overlooking the lake. There are 4 bedrooms with a queen bed. Bedroom walls do not reach the ceilings.

Garbage and Recycling:
Please put garbage in the bear bin at the road when you leave. A maximum of 2 black bags is allowed. Any more and the township will not take it.
Bookings that cover Mondays, there is roadside pickup Mondays at 7am for Garbage and recycling.
Bedding NOT provided
*mattress covers and pillow covers are on all bedding and pillows in every room.
*Renter is responsible for supplying blankets, sheets and comforters for all beds.

**Renter must provide valid proof of homeowners or renters insurance**
Occupancy
The maximum number of guests for this cottage is 8 people; up to 4 adults and 4 children. If you exceed this number at any point throughout your booking without the homeowners consent, you and/or your guests may be asked to leave at the homeowners discretion with no refund offered; an extra fee of $200 per person will be billed.
Linens and Toiletries:
Guests are responsible for supplying their own sheets, comforters, pillow cases, towels and dish cloths. Bathroom tissue and paper towels are supplied.
Cleaning:
While we do have a cleaner come in between guests to do a more detailed cleaning, we ask that you leave the cottage clean and tidy. A checklist will be provided.
Garbage:
Garbage day is Monday. Alternatively, disposal recommendations are posted on the fridge at the cottage as well as on the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula website.
Garbage- You may leave 2 black garbage bags in the bear bin at the road when you leave. Make sure to flip the little flag up in the corner. Please put all recycling in blue bags. They may also go into the bear bin with your 2 black garbage bags.
**Please note, the summer rentals check in and out on Friday. Since garbage day is on Monday, there will be 2 bags plus recycling from the previous renter when you check-in. Once the garbage has been collected on the Monday, you can put your two bags in at that point.
Repair of Property:
Homeowners may enter the premises at all reasonable times in order to inspect the property or make repairs.
Smoking:
No smoking inside the cottage. If smoking on property, please discard all cigarette butts appropriately
Fires:
There is a wood burning fireplace inside the cottage as well as a fire pit on the shore. Firewood is not provided, please be sure to check the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula by-laws for more information
Lost and Stolen Items:
The homeowner is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Incidentals and Damages:
Please report anything that isn’t working immediately so we can get it fixed for your stay.
Guests shall be responsible for any damages to the property beyond normal wear and tear and any incidental charges.
Indemnification:
Guests agree to indemnify and hold the homeowners harmless from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by guest/s or parties invited onto the property by guest/s.
You must also acknowledge
Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you will be charged accordingly.
Please respect the neighbours and how loud sounds and music can travel in the wilderness. Therefore quiet time after 10:00pm
Boats:
Canoe, Stand up Paddle Board and kayaks are for guest use; please educate yourself on use and safety. Guests must wear PFD. Use caution when carrying boats into the water. Please do not drag along the rock as this will damage the boats.
Toilet:
Please abide by posted septic guidelines at cottage, just human waste and toilet paper. Septic systems are very sensitive and costly. Feminine hygiene products and applicators must not be flushed. Also, flushable wipes are NOT flushable at the cottage.

Cleaning Instructions:
Cleaners, vacuum and swiffer wet mop are located in the closet (with decorative paddle) of the bedroom in the breezeway behind the door. In the event that you need them while you're there.
The broom and dustpan are located in the same closet.
Please ensure you complete this checklist before departure:
1. Ensure that all dishes have been put away neatly, not left in sink.
2.Put away all outside toys/games/activities in the garage
3. If you move furniture during your stay, please ensure that you return them to their original position. (including chairs outside)
5. Wipe down inside of the fridge, freezer and microwave.
