Creekside Cottage, my childhood home. (SCC#221304) Nestled in the redwoods with a soothing creek in your backyard, this renovated 1940s cottage blends vintage charm with a curated mid-century modern vibe. Relax creekside or get cozy inside—you might not want to leave! If you do, enjoy wineries, beaches, hiking, scenic train rides, or the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Rainy season? A treat! Savor the sights, scents, and sounds of the redwoods after the rain, just a 3min walk to town.
Cottage Creekside offers all the comforts of home, including a full kitchen, BBQ, and espresso machine stocked with coffee beans from our daughter’s shop, Koin Coffee (Walnut Creek, CA), and vanilla powder from Better Buzz (SoCal). You’ll also have access to laundry, a television, games, a record player, and high-speed internet.
Step outside and enjoy the spacious front and side yards, complete with tables and chairs—perfect for dining or relaxing. In the backyard, a small deck leads down to a year-round creek, illuminated by fairy lights that enhance the beauty of the towering trees.
For outdoor fun, challenge your group to corn hole and lawn games or unwind in oversized camping chairs and cots. If you’re feeling adventurous, explore the creek! We’ve provided a freshwater rinse station, towels, and foldable patio chairs at the landing of the stairs for your convenience.
Don’t forget to sign our one-of-a-kind guest book—it comes with a special invitation to visit a charming antique store in uptown Boulder Creek, just a short walk away.
You’ll have full access to the entire home and all outdoor spaces, including the yard and the creek—it’s all yours to enjoy!
Dine outside while listening to the peaceful sounds of the creek. Pure bliss. Want to take a dip? A cold plunge is always an option! Personally, I’ll pass, but my husband loves it—how about you?
Being in the mountains, the cottage does not have central heat or air conditioning, though it’s rarely needed. For cooling, opening the windows in the evening usually keeps the space comfortable, and a few portable fans are available. For heating, the gas fireplace warms the cottage quickly, and small portable heaters provide extra coziness (please only use one space heater per room, more than one can trip the breaker).
Occasionally, power outages occur in the area. When this happens, we have a generator to provide temporary backup, and outages are typically brief.
The cottage can accommodate up to three additional guests if two of them are children 8 years old or younger. There is an additional nightly fee of $25 per person.
If available, you may extend your stay before check-in or after check-out for $20 per hour.
