Hilltop Retreat
About this space
Come visit our off-grid, hilltop retreat. Our house is located at the top of a mountain in Northport, Maine overlooking beautiful Penobscot Bay. There are 180 degree views of Islesboro, Blue Hill, Acadia National Park, and the coastline of mid-coast Maine.
Our house has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds and exceptional views. The master on the third floor has a seating area and a small walk out deck to enjoy sunrises and take pictures.
The house also has a kitchen equipped for cooking meals, with a refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, 2-bay sink, and coffee maker. There are sufficient cutting boards, knives, pots and pans. The house also has a sun room for enjoying the afternoon sun, and a wrap-around deck. We have gardens out front that produce in the summer months. Please feel free to pick anything that is ripe and ready for snacking or herbs for a meal.
We have also provided some toys for all age kids in the closet.
Although our house is powered by solar panels, there is plenty of power to go about your everyday routine. We have 4 large lithium-ion batteries that store the solar energy and release it into the house as needed, and a backup generator that will kick on if needed. Though we are off-grid, we have high speed internet if you need to keep up with work emails or meetings while on vacation.
Please take a moment, listen to the birds, gaze at the stars, watch the sun rise, and enjoy this one of a kind secluded mountain-top retreat
